The village itself (gordes) deserves d´être discovered with its narrow streets and arcades. There are a number of restaurants and cafés, from the simple to the sophisticated; a few bakeries and grocery stores; and a thriving art scene. It is easy to understand why it was voted l´un of the most beautiful villages of France.
A few kilometres from Gordes is the village of Roussillon, which derives its originality from its land. Charged with ochre, the mineral pigment colours the walls of houses red. You can discover the world capital of candied fruit, a delight for the discerning palate.
