HISTORY
The Dragonwyck Inn was a historic Inn located in Westbrook where the Elks Club now sits. It no longer exists, but we pay homage to it with "Little Dragonwyck," our activity-filled beach cottage on the water.

THE LOCATION
This lovely four bedroom seasonal cottage will teach you the meaning of "location, location, location!" Drive down a quiet dead end street and you'll arrive at this peaceful spot. 15 steps from the front door is the seawall, then the sand, and then the blue waters of the Long Island Sound. Sit on the front porch and enjoy the sunset. Spend the afternoon at low tide walking out to Salt Island. Located directly on the water, you have direct access to the beach. No lugging towels or beach wagons--just use the spacious front porch as your home base for the day.

THE HOUSE
The house is fully furnished and stocked with everything you need for a great family vacation. The upstairs features four bedrooms, all recently renovated. The master bedroom includes a king size bed, a daybed (for an extra guest), and a desk so you can sit with a view of the water while working remotely. A second large bedrooms features two queen beds and a small desk for working. A third bedroom features a full bed. The last bedroom is our "kids" bedroom and features two stackable twin beds. You can leave it as a room for one, put both beds down in that room, or move the second stackable bed elsewhere in the house. There's a Baby Bjorn pack and play available if you're traveling with an infant or toddler. All rooms come with bureaus for storing your clothes and each bedroom comes equipped with special charging outlets to make it easy to keep your phones and electronics fully charged. The upstairs features two bathrooms, one full (tub/shower) and one half. On the main floor is a full bathroom with a shower. The last shower is an outdoor shower in the backyard.

The main floor of the home is perfect for large family gatherings. The entire main floor is open and and features a variety of seating options. Two living room areas allow you and your guests to curl up with a good book or watch TV. A Roku TV allows you to watch Netflix, Hulu, or other subscription services on a rainy day. Ample board games are available for family fun at night. In addition to the main kitchen there is a second kitchenette (no stove or fridge) that provides the perfect space for a wet bar. The table in the dining area seats 8 to 10 people comfortably for large group dinners. There is a full bath (with shower) and a washer and dryer on the main floor to help you and your guests stay fresh and clean.

THE YARD/PORCH
There is a fenced in backyard perfect for children to play in or dogs to run around in. There's an outdoor shower with hot and cold water and a patio with a gas grill for evening barbecues. The front porch is the envy of all the beach visitors. Sit in rocking chairs and watch the tide come in. The driveway can fit four cars, which is helpful since there's no nighttime street parking.

ACTIVITIES
Spend your day on the beach and make sure to walk out during low tide and plop your beach chairs in the sand as the water comes in. Walk out to Salt Island and spot the wildlife (oysters, mussels, crabs, and birds). The house comes equipped with beach chairs, life vests, kids beach toys, floats, and more. Spend an afternoon shopping in Essex. Drive over to the historic Mystic Seaport and visit the aquarium. New Haven is just a 25 minute drive away.

RATES AND REFUNDS
Rates are subject to change. There are no refunds of reservations except in the event of a hurricane which requires evacuation of the shore line.
