Description

Raymond Island’s Ferry will be out of service from Oct 4-25. During this time visitors can access the island by a free water taxi and we will collect our guests from the landing areas. This Tudor style house is located on one of the most beautiful places on Raymond Island, 6km's from the Paynesville township on 10 acres of bushland with tall trees in a parklike setting. Secluded off a beautiful long winding driveway, the house with it's two built in 2 storey cottages is but a few metres from the water's edge, has a safe sandy beach which stretches for miles on this side of the island. There is no road between the house and beach!
This area in Gippsland is well known for its mild climate in winter, and cooling sea breezes in the hot summertime. It is surely one of the finest inland lake locations in Victoria, indeed Australia. It offers great variety such as swimming, bushwalking, sailing, boating, fishing, bowling and golf.
The prawns run right out the front in summer and the owners have available sea kayaks to explore the lakes system.
We offer truly peaceful, exclusive and tranquil surroundings in which to relax and be close to unspoiled nature.
Resident on this property are koalas, echidnas, family of tawny frog mouth owls, sea eagles and kangaroos and their babies. The name of the property is a tribute to all the birdlife including black swans, pelicans, albatrosses, spoonbills, ibises, caspian terns, crimson and eastern rosellas, swift parrots, blue wrens, flame robins, azure kingfishers and many more.
We have bikes you can borrow to ride to around on the island.
The chain ferry runs every 20 minutes from the Raymond Island side and more often at peak times and stops at midnight Fri/Sat night and 11pm weeknights. Cost is $13 return for cars and free for passengers and cyclists. There are no cafes/shops on the island.

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY.
RAYMOND ISLAND IS A NATURE RESERVE AND AS SUCH WE DO NOT CATER FOR PETS.
Security deposit/ Bond only payable for long stays if the owners are away and will be refunded after servicing when the property is vacated.

Beach Cottage

As the same suggests, this cottage faces the beach right out front. Both bedrooms are upstairs; the master looks out over Lake King and the second bedroom contains two single beds with dormer windows looking to the lake and the front over the garden. Very small bathroom, kitchen, dining and lounge are all downstairs with alfresco outside eating area and bbq.
