Description

The small and picturesque fishing village of Petrcane is home to Villa Gatsby, a traditional style stone villa featuring a beautiful modern decor that can accommodate up to 6 guests across three bedrooms. Situated just 40m from the glittering blue of the Adriatic and surrounded by peaceful pebble beaches, pretty-fronted shops, restaurants and taverns, you won't find a more relaxing or stylish holiday home for your family getaway.

The interior of Villa Gatsby is bright and spacious with an open plan layout that incorporates living, kitchen and dining areas. The decor is light and fresh in shades of white and grey, with wooden flooring and royal purple and silver accents in the soft furnishings, solid, well-crafted furniture, and all of the amenities and equipment you'll need to self-cater during your stay. Villa Gatsby features WiFi and has air conditioning throughout, offering guests a practical and comfortable home from home that they'll remember and cherish forever.

Villa Gatsby's plush style continues through into the bedrooms, of which there are two doubles and one twin room. The overwhelming theme is a fresh and inviting white, with crisp linens, opal and gold accents and plenty of wardrobe space. Here you'll enjoy homely little touches such as wall decals and ornaments, frames and mirrors. The villa bathroom has a spa-like quality and is well-equipped with all the soft fluffy towels and toiletries you could need, as well as the handy addition of a washing machine.

The grounds of Villa Gatsby are just as stylish as indoors, with a beautiful spacious wooden terrace overlooking the sea. Guests at the villa can enjoy their private pool, a spacious infield - perfect for sunbathing or playing, stylish and comfortable loungers, parasols and garden furniture, and a large barbecue area. There's an adorable mini Tiki bar with a canopy and bar stools out on the terrace - the ideal shady spot to enjoy a cocktail or two, or perhaps a morning coffee, and there's private parking available for one car.

The Dalmatian village of Petrcane is located just 12km north of the popular tourist destination of Zadar. It is a 900-year-old fishing village with a small local population of less than a thousand people. The bay is surrounded by two peninsulas, Punta Radman and Punta Skala. It is one of the region's most picturesque and charming areas, with its tiny stone houses, scenic promenade, and idyllic village centre.

Many beaches are just waiting to be explored, with Beach Petrcane being the most popular. Located directly on the promenade, this elongated bay is mainly pebble, with green pine trees providing pleasant shade on hot days and the wonderfully clear waters inviting you to take a dip. After a day of total relaxation, why not stop at the beach bar before visiting the pretty harbour and then pop for a bite to eat at one of the wide range of cafes and restaurants in the area?

Petrcane is ideally located for discovering some of the best attractions of the Zadar region, including the picturesque town of Nin, and the island of Vir, an island connected by a bridge to the mainland. The old town of Zadar itself is only a short distance from the village and is famous for its many attractions, including the Roman forum. Here you'll experience a more metropolitan flavour, with restaurants, bars and cafes serving delicious local cuisine to suit everyone, as well as lots of opportunities to shop for souvenirs.

A visit to the 'Monument to the Sun' is an absolute must if you visit this part of Croatia. Created by artist Nikola Basic and located on the waterfront, the monument is a 22-metre disc representing the sun. It soaks up solar rays all day only to dazzle visitors with them in the form of coloured patterns as night falls. There are also smaller discs representing the solar system's planets, all of which radiate their shimmering glow. The adjacent art installation, 'Sea Organ', is another famous area attraction. These underwater pipes are formed by cleverly cutting steps into a section of the waterfront promenade; these underwater pipes produce musical notes when filled with water, creating a haunting harmonica effect.
