Borgo Besta, located right in the middle of olive groves, has become well-known through the book titled "The Olives of San Pietro", and having vacation in this area still feels as wildly romantic as the way life in Liguria is described in this book. Alone the fabulous view from the rooftop terrace of the house over the valley up to the blue waves in the bay of Diano Marina below with its green canopy of the olive trees and the old Rusticos will take you back in time. The way to the house goes right through the middle of olive groves and is very challenging for joggers and mountain-bikers. The rustic exterior appearance of the house notwithstanding, the interior is furnished in a modern and comfortable manner. There are two bedrooms for 4 persons on the ground floor, a bathroom with a shower and the staircase made of spiraling stairs. The first floor forms a central point for family vacationers; a comfortable fireplace and the big dining table can be attended to directly from the open kitchen. Through the terrace door of the kitchen-cum-living-room, you can access the roofed Loggia where you can sit well-sheltered even on cooler evenings.
You can also gain access to the Loggia from the big adjacent bedroom with an inviting four-poster bed. You will get a very peaceful sleep in the cool bedroom next to the bathroom, from where you can see the rock face very clearly through the window; it was on this rock face that the house was built, which used to be just a little tower of the former hamlet. One can relax superbly on the big rooftop terrace while reading a good book or sunbathing. To cool off briefly after a long excursion, guests residing in the Gioia can use the mini-pool belonging to the house, with a big sunroof and located right opposite the house. Many guests are only too glad to return to this cozy little house after a long day in the middle of the bustling coastal life.
