Description

The villa, a family owned private property only located 120km from Colombo International Airport, allows guests to feel at home and experience the peace and quiet that is unique to Aqua Dunhinda. We are happy to get you in sync with nature and your 5 senses.

The estate is sprawled over 4000 square feet of land, with 3 large guestrooms, en-suite bathrooms with rain spa showers, a spacious living room, an elegant 8-seater dining area, an observation deck, and an all rounded verandah. All guestrooms have immediate access to a well-maintained tea garden terrace, with a promise of the panoramic view of the river and mesmerizing sounds of the river flowing around the villa. Completely isolated except for exotic birds, buffalos, porcupines and wild boars, Aqua Dunhinda is built on the philosophy of evoking our 5 senses enhanced by the climate, landscape and culture. It is truly a therapeutic rejuvenating experience.

This special healing experience is situated along the banks of the mighty Mahaweli River and she overlooks the Kotmale Forest (more than 1000 acres of conservation forest). The Mahaweli River is Sri Lanka´s longest river, passing through our land over a large rock canapé, offering a breathtaking view of the numerous twists and turns of the continuous up-stream flow. This unique location has inspired a number of legends amongst the villagers, dating back to the days of King Sri Wikrama Rajasinghe (1780 – 1832) and romanticized through the name, "Dunhinda" (Misty River).

Aqua Dunhinda is situated near various places of interests, like the UNESCO world heritage site - The Sacred City of Kandy (15 km), the tea capital of the world – Nuwara Eliya (50 km), The Pinnawala Elephant Sanctuary (30 km), and many other attractions within her vicinity.
