On a country road, just a 3km drive from the local village, this villa has recently been renovated to a high standard and the owners have created a warm and welcoming home, the perfect place for guests on their Dordogne adventure. Despite the recent renovations, such as the fully modernised kitchen, the house is full of characterful features such as wood beamed ceilings, exposed brickwork and an open fire-place in the lovely living room. The owners have put their own stamp on the home with traditional furnishings offering a high level of comfort, contrasting with bright bathrooms and lovely bedrooms, including an impressive master double on the first floor.
Outside the gardens are fantastic with the scent of lavender, sounds of the nearby stream and fruit from the cherry trees plus lots of open space to relax and enjoy the views. The contemporary swimming pool has a spacious poolside terrace and great platform for sun-bathing or you can head to the lazy hammocks under the shady trees by the picturesque al-fresco dining area.

The nearest village, a charming place with an 11th Century church and ruins of a beautiful abbey, where concerts are held in the summer time. There's a small cafe-brasserie or you could drive to nearby Beaumont (4km), a lovely bastide town with further restaurants and some nice little shops and galleries. In the summer check out the weekly night market for an atmospheric and true Dordogne experience.
Other magical trips out should include sampling the delicious black truffle in the city of Perigueux, heading north over the river to the exquisite town of Sarlat or simply exploring some of France's Plus Beaux Villages along the Dordogne such as La Roque Gageac, Beynac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, all within easy reach.
