Description

Chateau Laperier is a charming original century chateau in a stunning corner of the Loire Valley. Look out over vast vineyards to the royal 12th century Chateau de Chinon, the favoured residence of Henry II, just across the River Vienne.

In your little neat and cosy chateau, the needs of a modern family meet classic French architecture. Who would think that a house with turrets would also have a playroom for the kids? Outside, the large private garden with mini playground & private pool will ensure the kids head to bed in a timely manner!

Foodies will be in heaven here; watch fresh French bread take shape at the new bakery just down the road from the chateau - there's a vegetable market too, so you never have to struggle to scrounge up a meal. When you think of the Loire Valley, you think of white wine. But not so in Chinon! This tiny appellation produces cellar-worthy reds, primarily made of Cabernet Franc.

Wander the cobbled streets of Chinon, a mere 3kms away, and you'll discover a multitude of boutique shops, and a dozen Michelin-recommended restaurants. North of town is the ultimate playground for kids and adults - Saint Benoit Aventure Park offers ziplines, climbing walls, aerial games, and more.

Chateau Laperier is a classic home away from home in the beautiful Loire valley, a magical spot.

#### Features
The front facade of the Chateau faces the Fortress Royale de Chinon, there are six principle rooms which share this view – it is a mesmerising sight to wake up to each morning, This view is particularly spectacular whilst watching the Chinon castle fireworks on Bastille day on 14th July. For those not visiting in July – fear not, the Royal Fortress lights up each evening!

A beautifully appointed sitting room and dining room which opens up with double doors to create a great entertaining space. The kitchen is the heart of the house, with an open fire during those cold winter months and a welcome cool retreat in the summer. Families are well accommodated with a family suite on the first floor. A playroom sits at the end of the corridor for those mornings where Mum and Dad wish to stay in their beds! Along with a dedicated bathroom which makes bath times easier. Individually styled rooms with crisp white bed linen and snuggly throws await you. Follow the sweeping stairs to the top floor where you will find two turreted bedrooms and a room adorned with the original “Toile du Jouy” fabric wallcovering.

This Loire estate has been designed on an English garden, with sweeping driveways and paths leading up into the woods. Lush woodland walks, where you will find a glade of Lily of the valley, an orchard and beautiful enchanted paths. It also has a wonderful 12 x 5 meter heated swimming pool (open from May to September).

#### Location
What a better way to start your morning than with a walk in the Loire- to the local bakery where you can fill your lungs with the amazing smells of the fresh croissants and speciality breads. The Pharmacy adjoins the bakery and a little further down the road is a fantastic new vegetable market, which also has the added addition of local artisan products and wine. The vegetables are so fresh and so much better than the local supermarkets. There is also a local supermarket 1/2 mile down the road, a Carrefour in the centre of Chinon and an Eleclerq the other side of town where you will also find many familiar brand shops.
