Description
Built of the local honey-coloured stone, this spacious, detached holiday villa is set in large grounds just outside the pretty village of Lagnes with its local shops, restaurants and bars. It is traditionally and comfortably furnished, with a large, well-equipped kitchen opening to a covered dining terrace along the front of the house, overlooking the pool house. The large, private pool has a shallow basin at one end for small children, a salt system that does not sting one's eyes and a stone fountain feature. Guests may pick their own cherries, nectarines and figs from the orchard or visit the evening farmers' market at Velleron for fresh fruit and local produce. Criss-crossed by the trout river, and dotted with mossy water wheels and excellent riverside restaurants, is the bustling antiques town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (5km). The picturesque village of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Gordes clinging to the hillside and Les Baux-de-Provence offering views out to the Mediterranean on a clear day are all easily visited.
