There is plenty of space for ski equipment and guests can prepare hearty warming breakfasts and lavish feasts in the well-equipped kitchen. The chalet is just 5 minutes drive from the Grands Montets ski lift, a 6 minute drive from Argentiere and a 12 minute drive from Chamonix.

Chamonix is a popular destination for holidays all year round. There are several magnificent ski areas including Grand Montets and Les Houches and endless off-piste opportunities. The town of Chamonix is utterly charming, very authentic and very vibrant with a buzzy apres-ski scene. The first Winter Olympic Games were held in Chamonix in 1924 after nearly two centuries of rising fame. Michelin-acclaimed chefs flock to this desired resort to offer gastronomic feasts to the most discerning of visitors. Chamonix is nestled in a glorious valley near the intersection of France, Italy and Switzerland with the majestic Mont Blanc creating a spectacular backdrop to frame this unique and characterful village. Chamonix's epic terrain makes it a popular and extremely challenging place to ski. Mountain climbing and hang-gliding are additional popular pursuits in this outstanding region. Les Grand Montets is the largest of the pisted skiing areas in the Chamonix valley at 1800 hectares and Chalet Bochard is perfectly positioned to make the most of this extraordinary area.

Chalet Bochard offers a carefree chalet stay with flexible accommodation over two floors. On the ground floor you will discover a rustic, characterful kitchen diner which offers excellent appliances and sets the scene for relaxed family meals. The chefs in your group will be delighted to find a range cooker, oven, a Krups coffee machine and large fridge freezer, perfect for stirring pots of warming porridge and preparing wonderful evening suppers. Your farmhouse dining table and benches sit alongside the bespoke solid wood kitchen. Guests can unwind in the Scandi-style sitting room or the comfy living room with its squishy sofas and roaring fire. There is also an atmospheric games room on the first floor with a pool table for some friendly competitive fun.

The warm ambience continues into the charming, wooden clad bedrooms. On the ground floor you will find a spacious double and a twin room. Upstairs there is a single room, a double and another twin. From the first floor games room, a ladder leads to a loft mezzanine with two further single beds, a popular pick with young ones that want to snuggle away with torches and bedtime stories. The bedrooms all offer the traditional ski chalet styling with lots of warm wood and cosy soft furnishings. Guests have use of a gorgeous quirky wooden bathroom suite with a generous wooden slatted bath and a separate walk-in shower. At the end of a thrilling yet chilling day on the slopes, the bath offers an inviting hot soak to soothe your aching limbs. There is also a second modern bathroom with a shower and a private sauna, perfect to unwind and relax. The villa also boasts laundry facilities and an extra toilet. Guests can park just in front of the chalet.

Chalet Bochard offers spectacular views all year round and fabulous leisure pursuits. #### Location
Chalet Bochard enjoys an enviable location just 5 minutes drive from one of the most spectacular skiing terrains in Europe. Les Grands Montets offers excellent snow conditions and both beginner and competition ski slopes. Most of the area is above the tree line with the upper skiing areas located on a glacier, accessed by a second cable car. From the top lift station you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Argentiere glacier and over towards Mont Dolent. The summit reaches 3295m. Les Grands Montets boasts three major zones, the lower mountain area between Argentiere Village at 1325m and the main station of Lognan at 1972m, the mixed alpine terrain from Lognan to Borchard at 2765m and the steeper alpine terrain which includes the Argentiere glacier up to 3275m. Thrill seekers and expert skiers frequent the Chamonix terrain in search of formidable pistes. Despite its reputation as a challenging ski destination, Chamonix does also offer novice and intermediate skiers some wonderful training slopes. Unlike some of the purpose-built ski resorts, Chamonix remains a fully functioning all year round town. Overall the valley is 16km long and 2km wide with the Mont Blanc ski pass covering the resorts of Argentiere and Les Houches, as well as the resorts of Megeve and Verbier in Switzerland. You can even ski the black country route, the Vallee Blanche and the Italian resort of Courmayeur. Les Grands Montets is known as being one of the best off-piste ski areas in the Alps and boasts more than 2000m of vertical skiing terrain over three huge bowls. There are 8 main lifts with 2 gondalas, 2 cable cars and 4 chair lifts. Les Houches is home to the Kandahar World Cup Skiing Event. It is a very traditional Savoyarde ski resort with many charming mountain restaurants. Its large upper plateau is perfect for beginners.

Aside from the skiing, Chamonix boasts many shops, bars, restaurants and an excellent array of non-skiing activities. It retains a traditional charm, particularly in the pedestrianised town centre. It boasts Victorian architecture and a pretty river. Apres ski starts at 5pm with delicious cocktails and an extensive beer selection.

In the summer, Les Grands Montets offers fabulous scenery, stunning landscapes, a snow garden, ice-falls in the Chamonix Valley, waterfalls and many paths to explore on foot or mountain bike. A cable car can take you to the summit where you can enjoy the L'Aiguille Verte, Les Droites and Les Drus peaks. A tandem paragliding flight is available from 3220m altitude. The snow garden is situated at the top of Grands Montets, constructed and maintained by the piste team.
