There’s a daily market, supermarket and disco at Saujon a 20 minute drive and sandy beaches along the wide Gironde estuary at Meschers, St Georges-de-Didonne, and Royan, all within 30 minutes drive. Saintes is a 20 minute drive and has boutiques, restaurants, golf, Roman sites, and the chance to cruise on the River Charente - down to Cognac, for example, to taste the world-renowned brandy.
