Ocean View Cottage

Description

This is a Cottage three doors from the beach with a nice view of the Ocean, especially from the Loft Bedroom balcony.

This Cottage is available for your family to vacation. You may not however, use this Cottage as a "Spring Break" type "Party House" ! Do not rent this house if you intend to engage in illegal drug use. Responsible alcohol consumption is permitted. Bothersome drunken behavior is not. Please be sure to read "House Rules" before booking. Alcohol consumption is prohibited on all Saint Johns County Beaches. All guest are required to sign a Short Term Rental Agreement and provide the Host with a copy of Government Issued Photo Identification which includes their home address.

You will be renting the whole house which includes the ground floor bedroom and bath, the main floor (second floor) kitchen, livingroom, bedroom and bath, and the loft bedroom above. You will have the whole place to yourselves. You will have privacy.

Though this Cottage is only three doors from the beach, it is also walking distance to the Publix Grocery Store, the restaurants on Vilano Street, and just a short drive to downtown Historic Saint Augustine and Flagler Collage. If you haven't seen old city Saint Augustine, consider planning at least a dinner there, and ice cream after. Park at the parking garage. ...Or just use Uber. Many people do.

You can watch the waves breaking and listen as they pound the beach from the Kitchen, bedroom or deck of this 1970's contemporary timber frame architecture home. This is a quiet street. This cottage is south of Vilano Street, so there's little if any through traffic. I love the sound of the breeze rustling through the palm trees.

Go to the beach. Swim in the waves. But also walk south, over the stone jetty and down to the inlet along Porpoise Point (its a short walk). The water and sea life are interesting. You never know what you may see in the sea. You could spend a week just experiencing the daily changing tidal environment. Children especially enjoy the smaller waves and tidal pools of Porpoise Point Inlet, at low tide. My wife and I walk and swim at the ocean and inlet every day when we are there. It's rare not to see fish or Porpoises. Some days we see just a few fish, other days a lot. You never know. Enjoy!

At the bottom of the outside steps, a fenced pen and gate is provided for those guests who are traveling with a dog or two. ( a limit of 2 small dogs, 20 lbs. or less, is permitted with additional pet deposit) Guest are required to clean up after their pets. A Pooper-Scooper and trash can are provided.

Please park in front on the concrete driveway as you pull in. Enter through the ground floor door on the left. The ground floor has one bedroom, one bath and a laundry. Up the stairs to the main level (second-floor) which includes a deck, barbecue grill, Kitchen / living room, main floor bedroom and bath, and a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Climb up the spiral steps to the loft bedroom and balcony to another great view of the ocean. There is also a hide-a-bed in the living room sofa for 2 additional guest if needed.

Please note; The Spiral Staircase may be a hazard to little kids. For this reason, this property may not be suitable for small children. They're your kids. Parental discretion is advised.

Parking is provided on the driveway. 2 cars easily. If needed, there may be some additional parking available on nearby Loja Street. But don't try to park at the public parking lot on Anahma Street or Publix grocery store parking lots overnight, as no parking after 10:pm is enforced.

Saint John's County permits a maximum of one rental event per week. You may stay the minimum or as long as you wish. But I am not allowed to rent the Cottage to more than one group per week. For example, I cannot rent to two parties who each stay only 3 nights in the same week. Some of you will want just two nights and see a two night opening on the schedule, but if someone has already booked in that week you may be disappointed.
