With only 10 minutes from the cottage you can swim in Lake Vänern and pay a visit to the Göta Canal. This place is called Sjötorp and is visited every summer by tens of thousands of tourists who come to experience the special atmosphere around the shipyard, the canal with the locks, the boating life in the guest harbor and the sunset over Lake Vänern. The house is idyllically located with a small pond in the garden. Great for a large family with older children who want to live alone in the small house or for those who travel with grandparents. Both houses have a bathroom / shower / toilet. The big house is nice with mixed decor. You are welcomed in the back of a small hall. Directly to the right is the shower and laundry room and next to a small storage room. Straight ahead you will find the toilet / sink. To the left you enter a large bright kitchen with wood stove. Straight ahead find a bedroom with a double bed 180cm. To the right is the living room with a lovely stove. From the kitchen there are stairs up to a large loft. There are 4 single beds in each end. The small house right next door is in the same style with lovely mixed furniture, has a small hall with bathroom / shower / toilet on the right. Directly to the left you enter the small living room with 2 single beds 90cm. Even here with a cozy stove. Directly to the right is the second bedroom with 2 built-in beds in older style. This room has a small sink, hob and an older stove. There is also space for a small kitchen table. Here next to the shores of Lake Vänern there is the opportunity for sunbathing and swimming in many nice public bathing places. In the lake town of Mariestad, 12 km, there are beautiful streets with cobblestones and well-preserved 17th century houses. Göta canal starts in Sjötorp, right next to your accommodation. Take the opportunity to rent a bike and take a ride along the beautiful canal. In the countryside around the city there are several cultural treasures worth a visit and in the center of the city is the Old Town, one of the country's best preserved city centers. 50 km to Skara Sommarland water park with a variety of attractions that are always appreciated by the children. For those interested in golf, Mariestads GK's golf course is only a few km from the cottage.
