Note for parents with kids. Little Ivy Creek flows through this property, it's fast flowing at about 2-3ft deep. Please don't leave children unattended.

We have a Minut smart decibel monitoring device installed in the hallway off the living room on the ceiling. This device does NOT record sound or video, it simply monitors noise in decibels to alert us of any smoke/fire alarms going off, broken windows and potential parties occurring at the house. There is also a ring door bell installed on the outside the house to the right of the front door
We are here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. We're only a phone call/message away. You will be able to self check-in upon arrival. Welcome to Mars Hill, North Carolina. Just 8 minutes away from Travelers Way Chalet is a charming downtown that’s home to Mars Hill University as well as a rich musical history: this is the birthplace of folk musician Bascom Lamar Lunsford, the “minstrel of the Appalachians.” Here you’ll find restaurants and shops, and several theaters where the tradition of Appalachian music thrives. On a clear day, you’ll even be able to spot Mount Mitchell.

Madison County is home to 55,000 acres of National Forest and endless opportunities for adventure: from gem mining to golfing, hiking and fly fishing to hot spring swimming, horseback riding to whitewater rafting. Within 20 miles you’ll find two of western NC’s best spots for outdoor action. Zip downhill at Bailey Mountain Bike Park, or hit the slopes at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort. The Appalachian Trail runs through this neck of the woods, too, so be sure to bring your hiking boots.

The area’s agricultural roots make it a perfect destination for scenery seekers and foodies alike: spend afternoons on idyllic drives from farm to farm, or see what local chefs create with the harvest at an array of farm-to-table restaurants. And if you’re looking for even more excitement, the city of Asheville is just 18 miles away.

With a full suite of modern appliances, including a smart Samsung refrigerator along with elegant marble countertops, the kitchen is just as suited for whipping up meals as it is for relaxing over a glass of wine. Fresh ingredients are easy to come by in this agriculturally rich stretch of the Blue Ridge—get creative with your cooking, then find your favorite spot to picnic.

This mountain chalet is also an ideal spot to find a change of scenery for work-from-home life. Set your laptop up on the grand kitchen island, Zoom from the couch, or check your emails alfresco on the spacious deck.
