Description

This spacious holiday home with a private pool and beautiful enclosed garden lies on the border of Saint Pons de Mauchiens, a medieval village located 14km from the Bassin de Thau and 30km from the sea. The property is nestled between Pézénas and Saint Pargoire, a quiet area among vineyards. It has a large south east facing terrace with a garden filled with pine and fruit trees offering both lots of shade and sunny patches for those looking to work on their tan. The big living room has bay windows that open onto the terrace and one of the bedrooms opens onto the garden. Its location is ideal as in a 30km radius one can find 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites; the Canal du Midi which links the Mediterranean to the Atlantic where you will find, dotted along its riverbank, beautiful work such as l’Ecluse ronde d’Agde. A unique engineered structure made of volcanic rock that welcomes the Canal’s waters. Then there is the Causses and Cévennes territory, a magnificent setting of diverse Mediterranean landscapes and finally the renowned pilgrim’s route to St Jacques de Compostelle. The fabulous village St Guilhem- le- Désert is a must and it is situated only 40 minutes away. No need to go out of your way to gaze at amazing panoramas with Saint-Pons-de-Mauchiens nearby, along with Mount Espinouse, Larzac’s foothills and on a clear day the Pyrennées. A lovely walk in a relaxing setting amidst the smell of pine trees will lead you to the Notre-Dame d’Espérance chapel. Thau’s pond is the largest in Occitania, only 17 minutes away, separated from the sea by a thin strip of sand and dominated by the Mont St Clair peninsula, unique in Europe with over 400 plant species and 100 animal species. Do not miss out on the opportunity to savour on its renowned oysters de Bouzigues and mussels de Sète along the shore. Youngsters will be delighted to know there is also an Aqualand park at the Cap d’Agde beaches.
