Description

Sitting in beautiful and tranquil gardens you will find Le Coucou, an attractive stone house with a magnificent swimming pool in the heart of the stunning region of the Dordogne, just 7km from the bustling market town of Le Bugue.
On warm summer days you will be surrounded by the sweet scents of rose and lavender in the glorious and vast gardens. Wander around the grounds and find the perfect place to sit, read a book, gaze at the countryside views or just appreciate the natural surroundings on one of the many pretty terraces. The setting of the beautifully decked swimming pool is tranquil and private and the sun-bathing terraces are a wonderful place to unwind.
As you step inside the stone house you can sense the traditional ambience with flagstone floors, cosy fire-places and wood beamed ceilings, contrasting the perfect modern kitchen and comfortable living space. The addition of a peaceful study with its own hand-crafted staircase and a glorious summer room adds to the feeling of space throughout the L shaped home, the ideal place for both family and friends. Many parts have been recently restored including a new-look contemporary shower room on the first floor alongside three of the pretty bedrooms, alongside the attractive double bedroom and shower room downstairs.
Nearby is Le Bugue (7km), a charming market town on the Vezere riverside with narrow winding streets to explore and beautiful buildings to admire. Visit on a Tuesday to experience the bustling market day, then hire canoes on the river or enjoy lunch in one of the many lovely restaurants. The pretty Dordogne villages of Limeuil and Tremolat are also within a short drive and both enchanting places to visit.
Other magical trips out should include sampling the delicious black truffle in the city of Perigueux (35km), heading east to the exquisite town of Sarlat or simply exploring some of France's Plus Beaux Villages along the Dordogne such as La Roque Gageac, Beynac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle. Not forgetting the beautiful city of Bergerac with its unmissable Maisons de Vins.
Le Coucou offers charm, comfort and tranquillity in one of France's most captivating regions to explore.
