Description

Casa Chen, nestled among lush Mayan Jungle and just a few steps away from a private stretch of white sandy beach, is a stunning two bedroom property accommodating up to four guests and featuring incredible ocean views, exotic outdoor spaces, and a private pool. This beautiful rustic style villa makes the most of its natural surroundings, with comfy seating areas under the coco palms, and among the lush tropical plants. Great use is made of local raw materials, with the wood and stone being used to create furniture and furnishings both inside and out, all of which contributes to an ‘island paradise' vibe.

The interior of Casa Chen blends seamlessly with the outdoor areas, with lots of wood-on-white decor featuring neutral shades and natural materials all contributing to a boho beach vibe. The open plan living area is light, spacious and airy, with huge double doors that open out onto the garden terrace. The exposed ceiling beams and beautifully crafted wooden furniture contrast beautifully with the white walls and floors, and perfectly complement the plush cream sofas adorned with cushions in azure blue, and the soft hints of colour in the handwoven rugs. The kitchen area follows suit with its continuation of neutral shades and use of local raw materials; evident in the handsomely crafted breakfast bar and kitchen units. The kitchen area is small but well-equipped with all modern amenities, and provides plenty of storage areas.

Casa Chen boasts two queen-size bedrooms, both featuring en-suite facilities, garden views, and a private terrace - perfect for taking in the relaxing sights with an early morning cuppa. Both rooms are just as tastefully decorated as the rest of the villa, with clean lines, fresh white linens, and rich wood and natural stone used to create beautiful, rustic style furniture. The en-suite bathrooms also feature natural materials in the cool stone tiles and basin units, and both boast a contemporary style walk-in shower and a selection of Mayan-inspired bath products for guests to enjoy.
There is a private outdoor pool for guests to enjoy, as well as a decked terrace and outdoor shower; and a short pathway cut between the greenery allows guests to walk, bare foot, down to the beach area and the sun loungers looking out towards the glittering Carribbean sea.

#### Location
Casa Chen benefits from a tranquil and private location right on the beach and surrounded by lush Mayan jungle. The beach area is known for its soft white sands, clear waters, and lack of undercurrent, making it popular with families and those who enjoy snorkelling or scuba diving. Tulum itself is famous for its Mayan ruins; the main building being a large stone structure called El Castillo, which is perched on a rocky cliff above the white sands and turquoise sea. The ruins are a must-see attraction for guests, as is the Parque Nacional Tulum, a coastal area with mangroves and cenotes - natural limestone sinkholes - which provide opportunities to swim, dive, and explore.

When it comes to holidays, eating out is all very much part of the experience, and in Tulum you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants to suit all tastes. The popular Hartwood restaurant offers seasonal produce from local Mayan farms, as well as sustainably caught seafood cooked over an open flame. The restaurant offers open air seating and is lit by candlelight, making it popular with holidaymakers and locals alike, who enjoy its relaxed vibe and family-friendly atmosphere. For those looking for somewhere more high-end, Arca is an upscale jungle-side restaurant serving local produce over an open fire and using Mayan traditions and techniques, or for somewhere more casual check out Clan-Destino and it's incredible meat or veggie burgers, strong cocktails and bottled beer, all served with a side of jukebox, karaoke and live music.

For a spot of shopping Tulum has lots to offer; from chic, handcrafted Mayan-inspired clothing and designer accessories available at boutiques such as Caravana and Zak Ik (worth a look thanks to its art-installation style interior, but please note children are not permitted inside, no exceptions), to Teepee and Mixik, both of which offer gifts and souvenirs in the shape of affordable crafts and trinkets, all made in Mexico. And when it comes to beaches you will be spoilt for choice - whether it be Soliman Bay right on your doorstep, or Akumal Beach with beautiful coral reefs teeming with sea turtles.
