Description
A newly updated chalet nestled in a historic property minutes from Main Street Hendersonville, NC. Come enjoy privacy in the mountains while still being close to shops, restaurants, and mountain activities. This 1 bedroom, 1 bath chalet is cozy and accommodating. You have a full bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and a 400 sq. ft. deck to enjoy the mountain air and starry nights. The property holds a lot of history that can be seen in the stonework of the chalet and the original heart pine wood floors. The main house on the property was originally built around the mid 19th century by Reverend Charles Cotesworth Pinckney from Charleston, SC. It sold to Henry Middleton, who was close friends with Carl Sandburg. When the original house burned down in 1949 it was Sandburg who came to assist, signing every book that was saved from the blaze. This property has historical significance with owners having deep roots with founders of United States. A wonderful getaway for anyone who loves history and tranquility. This is a perfect getaway spot for 2 in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
