Set within the dramatic scenery along the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, you can visit the many caves such as La Roque Saint-Christophe, or stunning châteaux such as Beynac. The wonderful medieval town of Sarlat is a must, as is Lascaux II, the world famous painted cave (both within a 30 minute drive). Périgueux the capital of the Dordogne is 37km, and hosts the Gallo-roman museum and the Cathedral Saint Front which is similar to Le Sacré Coeur in Paris, weekly markets are held there on a Wednesday where you can sample local produce and wine.
