Description

This attractive 3 bedroom house with private swimming pool is nestled in the pretty hamlet of Sainte Radegonde. Walk up 3 steps to go through the gate of the property and you are in a little haven of peace with your own private swimming pool and terrace and this recently modernised 19th century house. Downstairs to your left is the large fitted kitchen behind which is a second kitchen and separate WC, and to the right is the very comfortable lounge with large screen TV and DVD player. On the first floor is the main bedroom with a lovely en-suite including bath, whilst the second bedroom with two single beds also has en-suite facilities. Continue up the stairs and you arrive straight into the third bedroom which is in the rafters of the property with exposed beams (one of which is quite low) housing a double bed and a single bed which again have en-suite facilities. Access to the fully enclosed garden is via the front door or from the back kitchen and you have a choice of 3 great sitting areas with a terrace at the side, one at the front and the wooden terrace by the pool. The nearest small shops are within 2kms but you have all services in Fontenay, a pretty town 10 minutes away. The lake at Mervent (14kms) has a good selection of watersports and there is also a small zoo, and the village of Vouvant is the same distance and has been voted one of the most beautiful in France. There are several pretty towns with weekly markets and beach lakes while the Atlantic coast is less than an hour away for a day out at some stunning beaches. Also within an hour is the beautifully restored Roman town of La Rochelle with its attractive harbour lined with cafés and restaurants and the famous Ile de Ré just over the bridge or accessible on the ferry.
