Description

This is Cezanne country… a Unesco protected site of lavender-lined country roads in the shadow of the great Ste Victoire, a countryside landscape that the famous artist loved to paint.

Bastide Cezanne takes full advantage of this privileged location in its quiet and private setting which enjoys beautiful views, yet only two kilometres from a charming village and only ten kilometres from the formidable town of Aix-en-Provence.

This period Provencal home is spacious and comfortable and furnished with tasteful antiques. It remains elegant and airy and enjoys lots of outdoor space in its 2.5 ha of grounds full of mature trees which provide precious shade.

A local restaurant is just a 15-minute walk away and The Sainte Victoire Mountain is just a short drive away. Aix-en-Provence offers endless opportunities for shopping and dining in one of the most charming towns in Provence. There are also an abundance of pretty villages, markets and vineyards to visit.

Bastide Cezanne is located in a peaceful and pretty village at the foot of the St Victoire mountain, enjoying magnificent views over the surrounding countryside. This is the ideal base to spend long hours out hiking, mountain-biking, horse-back riding, visiting vineyards and exploring local markets.
Aix-en-Provence is just 15 minutes away: just North of Marseille. it is renowned for its 17th & 18th Century architecture, town squares and boulevards. It is an ideal destination for lovers of neo-classic European antiquity and visitors are welcome to enjoy numerous attractions including the distinguished Cours Mirabeau, a favourite of Ernest Hemingway's. This picturesque strip was surely inspiration for aspects of his works and hosts several small cafes and delightful boutiques. A short walk from here, is the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan. These staggering grounds stimulated Paul Cezanne into producing some of his finer pieces of artwork and guided tours are available to guests. If you still have a thirst for the arts, pop into Musee Granet and you are sure to be blown away by the artists' showcased in this honoured gallery.
