Description

Experience the simple pleasures of Provençal living at this attractive holiday villa ideally positioned for exploring the many charming villages, market towns and beautiful landscapes of Provence, close to Saint-Rémy and Avignon.

Step through the beautifully tiled hallway into an inviting open-plan living and dining area, where pretty furnishings and bold works of art create a vibrant yet cosy atmosphere with tall windows overlooking the walled garden and swimming pool. The well-equipped open kitchen ensures you have everything you need to prepare delicious meals, embracing the flavours of this region.

Outside at the front of the house, the welcoming swimming pool, surrounded by sun loungers, invites you to bask in the sunshine. Shady trees provide a cool retreat on warm afternoons, while a rustic dining table sets the scene for long, leisurely meals, savouring the finest local produce and wines. The grounds can be atmospherically lit up in the evening and there’s also a boules court and ping-pong to keep all ages entertained.

The villa is on a country road leading to a small traditional village. For restaurants and shops, the relaxed villages of Saint-Andiol, Mollégès, Cabannes and Eyragues are all within a short drive, as are the nearby market towns of Châteaurenard and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

Don’t forget the Friday morning market and gastronomic restaurants of picture-perfect Eygalières, just 15 minutes by car. You are also well located for exploring the enchanting landscapes of Les Alpilles, the cultural riches of Avignon, and the idyllic perched villages of the Luberon.

Whether you prefer long walks through the scenic countryside, cycling along quiet lanes, or venturing further afield to uncover the region’s many treasures, Villa de Menthe provides a great base for an enjoyable family holiday in Provence.

In the heart of Provence, Villa de Menthe is in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of southern France, close to the Vaucluse border. Whether you’re seeking cultural experiences, breathtaking landscapes, or historic towns, this holiday home provides the ideal base for unforgettable Provençal adventures.

Surrounded by a handful of other houses, the villa is on a country road connecting Eyragues (6km) to a small, picturesque village around 800m away (no pavement). The village is surrounded by rolling countryside, orchards and farmland, ideal for long walks and cycle rides to other local villages. Saint-Andiol, Mollégès and Cabannes are all within easy reach for restaurants and shops whilst the market town of Châteaurenard is only 10km by car.

Also a short drive away, the famed town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (11km) enchants visitors with its vibrant Wednesday morning market, Roman ruins, and connections to Vincent van Gogh. Nearby, the hilltop village of Eygalières (11km) offers stunning views, historic charm and high-end dining alongside a taste of authentic Provençal life. Both are part of Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park, a paradise for nature lovers, with scenic hiking trails, limestone cliffs, forests and olive groves stretching as far as the eye can see.

For those drawn to the beauty of the Luberon region, the bustling town of Cavaillon (13.5km) is just a stone’s throw away. Famous for its sweet melons and charming old town, it serves as a gateway to the breathtaking landscapes of the Luberon Natural Park, where you’ll find enchanting villages like Gordes (35km) and Ménerbes (29km).

If you love antiques and riverside charm, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (23km) is a must-visit, with its picturesque canals, vibrant Sunday market, and countless boutique shops offering treasures from across Provence.

No stay in Verquières would be complete without a visit to Avignon (20km), just a short distance away. This historic city, once the seat of the papacy, is home to the magnificent Palais des Papes, the iconic Pont d’Avignon, and a lively cultural scene that makes it one of France’s most beloved destinations. Whether you explore its medieval streets, enjoy fine dining, or immerse yourself in its world-famous theatre festival, Avignon never fails to impress.
