Description

Enjoy sumptuous food and wine during your stay at the Villa-Des-Arbres, a stone-built villa in Dordogne. The property boasts panoramic views of the Dordogne river valley in the middle of a quiet clearing. Swim in a sparkling pool with an expansive terrace, and then dine al fresco in a covered side terrace with built-in barbecue.
Villa-Des-Arbres is close to the hillside town of Tremolat and its many excellent restaurants. You can go back in time with the prehistoric paintings of Lascaux, and adventurers will enjoy spelunking in the area's many caves.

You're also in the Bergerac wine appellation area, with its numerous chateaux ready for visitors. Foodies will want to search out the region's famous truffles, cepes, and foie gras, available at the Metairie adjoining the estate or the many bustling farmers' markets nearby.

The 12th century church of Saint Nicholas, which in ancient times had a defensive role, lies at the centre of the village. Here, you can find a plethora of excellent restaurants serving traditional food as well as local shops.
Close by is the famous "Cingle to Tremolat", a bend in the river offering magnificent panoramic views of the Dordogne valley.
The medieval town of Lalinde (14 km), with its little lake ideal for picnics and lively Thursday market is also worth a visit.
Sarlat (44 km) bustling narrow streets and medieval buildings steeped in culture and history, is a must visit for all.
The region boasts the world renowned Bergerac appellation wine area which covers 12,700 hectares. Wine has been produced in the region for well over 400 years. Wine enthusiasts will find similar grapes to those found in the Bordeaux region including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec reds; Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadet whites.
Many vineyards welcome visitors and offer tastings. The formal ‘route de vin' maps out a plan of the vineyards in the area.
