Beautiful, characterful family home, imbued with the stored odors, secrets of the alcoves, buried memories, dreams and illusions of the many generations that have succeeded one another here. Surrounded by a large garden planted with trees and flowers, with an unobstructed view of the sea. Norman cupboards, bow window and sandstone fireplace in the living/dining room, study/library with fireplace, large, bright and comfortable bedrooms, overlooking the sea or garden.
Nolent is an old house, large, beautiful, surrounded by a large park, which my great-grandparents rented in 1921, and finally bought in 1924. Over 100 years of family history....
During the Second World War, the house was occupied by the Germans, who turned it into a zone headquarters. At the end of the war, my great-grandmother took over the house, which was quite destroyed and had no furniture.
Nolent thus passed from hand to hand, to my grandparents, who spent their summers there, as well as long family weekends. Between the beach, fishing, tennis and social gatherings, it was a house that was very much lived in. Later, we spent our summers there, reconnecting with our French roots. It's a magical place!
I took over the house after my grandmother passed away over 15 years ago, so that I could enjoy this special and unique place.
