Casa La Serena- your own secluded piece of paradise in San Juan del Sur. One of Balcones de Majagual most loved homes.
Casa La Serena is designed like a romantic hideout: private pool, stone table to dining outside while looking at the ocean, a master bedroom with plantation shutters all the way up (feels like a deluxe tree house) balconies off the primary suite and living room, a comfortable well equipped kitchen, bathrooms with picture windows, and everything built with beautiful exotic woods and good taste. The home is older and shows some age but it is a comfortable place to enjoy being surrounded by a tropical forest teeming with life. Located in the boutique seaside community of Balcones at Majagual, the house is just a fifteen-twenty-minute walk away from the ocean. At Casa La Serena you will wake up to the sound of birds and the din of the ocean. You will also hear and sometimes see the fantastic howler monkeys. To connect with the outside world just open your laptop and hook up to the WIFI (unlimited and included in the rate)
The house has a second bedroom/study with a full convertible bed, located in the first level with its own private bathroom, picture window and a beautiful wood desk. This makes the home ideal for two couples or a family with older children!
Kitchen, dining and pool graciously flow into each other and can be opened to create a unique, ample and fun space. Casa La Serena is located near three of the best surfing and swimming beaches in Nicaragua: Playa Maderas and Playa Majagual. Kayaking, hiking, fishing, or canopy tours can be arranged in the nearby town of San Juan del Sur where you can also enjoy a variety of restaurants and bars. For fine dining you can reserve a table at neighboring Morgan's Rock, one of the most exclusive resorts in Central America.
This self-catering home offers a fully equipped kitchen: coffee maker, toaster, dinner and silverware for 6, linens and towels, toiletries, hair dryer, safe deposit box, flat screen for DVD player, large closets and unique design touches. Cleaning service is provided on stays over 5 days as is 24 hour security.
4WD vehicle is required to stay at and access Casa La Serena, this is not optional and we can assist with booking this!
The house has electric hot water and there's a backup electric generator. Just so you know, the electrical generator runs the fans and the fridge. During power outages, you won't have hot water or a pool pump. The batteries will not last indefinitely and in a prolonged outage- will eventually run dry. This is a bonus feature of the home, and a prolonged power outage will not result in a refund to guests.
Take advantage of this quiet and secluded place to enjoy a relaxing vacation.
More than two guests are charged at a rate of $15 per person per night.
Of note- the home is south-facing with wide-open vistas. This means the home can get quite hot in the afternoons in the months of March and April in the mail portion and primary suite. It's a great time to head to the beach :) but if you have health issues affected by heat- you may find it a struggle.
