Only two blocks from La Ropa beach on gorgeous Zihuatanejo Bay, the main house in the El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin family complex offers two air-conditioned bedrooms, full kitchen, and airy tropical living spaces. The home is in one of four buildings on a property that climbs upward from street level.
The main house consists of a large, flow-through living room-dining room-kitchen with a wide, covered front terrace running most of its length. The terrace wreathed in tropical plants holds a small dining set, hammock, rocking chairs, and small dipping pool, perfect for cooling off with a drink or a favorite book.
Two attached bedrooms and a small half-bathroom are accessible off the front terrace.. Each bedroom is air-conditioned and has its own bathroom with shower. The lower bedroom has two individual beds joinable into one king and accesses a small private patio, and the upper bedroom with a small balcony has two individual beds that can also be joined to make one king. The home comfortably hosts 4 guests.
The spacious, well-equipped kitchen (6-burner stove with oven, fridge, microwave, blender, toaster, etc.) is separated from the indoor dining area by a low bar of rich tropical parota wood. The slightly sunken living area at the opposite end of the dining area has comfortable seating, cooling fans, and a games cabinet.
Behind and above the main building are three separate standalone two-story buildings with additional rental units where other guests or family may be in residence. Access to these units is totally independent from the main house. There is a wide, shared roof-top view terrace on an upper level with hammocks shaded by a thatched roof as well as open space to take the sun.
Note that the bedrooms are air-conditioned and the open living/dining/kitchen areas are cooled with fans and natural breezes. The house is staffed certain days of the week for basic cleaning and maintenance purposes.
