Chalet Vauban is a unique and spacious Chalet built in 1692 by royal architect Sebastian Vauban. Containing 5 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, the chalet has its own hot tub and sauna. Situated within the exclusive village of Font Christiane, the Chalet is a mere 5-minute drive from the UNESCO old town, well known for its traditional French alpine restaurants and cuisine.

Summer or winter the Chalet provides breath-taking balcony views over the ski mountain. With period features throughout, a large pizza oven and wood burning stove you can rest assured the Chalet will bring you calm and make you feel instantly at home.

The chalet is a 5-minute drive from the Prorel ski-lift, granting you access to the 4th largest ski resort in France, boasting over 300 days of sun a year. For ski families, The ESF (Ecole de ski Français) is situated at the foot of the Prorel lift.

Guest Access:

You have exclusive access to all 4 floors of the house and there are a couple of sets of keys to let you come and go as you please. You will be greeted on the day by our lovely housekeeper Colib, who lives in the area and knows the house inside out.

Interaction with Guests:

Once your booking has been confirmed we will arrange a check-in time at the property with our housekeeper Colin, who will give you the keys and show you around the property, explain how the internet, heating etc. works as well as give you any recommendations you may need.



We will be on hand during your stay to make your stay more enjoyable however we will also give you privacy.

The Neighborhood:

Located at an altitude of 1,326 metres, at the confluence of five valleys, Briançon is officially the highest city in Europe! This City of Art of History, fortified by French military architect Vauban in the 18th century, is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site precisely because of its remarkable group of fortifications built between the 18th and 20th centuries in order to improve the town's defence system. Within the town there are great alpine restaurants and pubs to eat and drink, and during winter and the ski-season, Briancon becomes a magical place.

Getting Around:

Whilst it is recommended that you bring or hire a car to get to the chalet, There is now an on demand bus service called WiiLiiK, it works similar to Uber and you can order a bus as and when you need to via an App and it services the whole valley. Alternatively you can drive and park most places and buses run regaularly throughout the valley,
