Description

Trullo Barbagianni is an extraordinary abode near Cisternino that epitomises understated luxury, seamlessly blending tradition and design set within a 6-hectare estate of olive trees and stunning natural scenery. The owners have created a complete holiday experience at this exquisite dwelling in Puglia. Immerse yourself in the heritage of your surroundings, interspersed with contemporary art and design, all enhanced by the exceptional services that can be arranged during your stay. Built with local white stone, the main residence has been sensitively restored to create a fine holiday home with three gorgeous bedrooms, each with Smart TVs, walk-in wardrobes and en suite bathrooms. The modern living and dining room has been designed with floor-to-ceiling windows whilst the charming kitchen features sleek, high-end appliances contrasting exposed stone walls and its conical roof. Discover another two en suite bedrooms with independent entrances, each in a restored trullino within the gardens, whilst a poolside annexe is home to the sixth bedroom. Trullo Barbagianni can therefore comfortably sleep up to 12 guests across its beautifully styled interiors. The salt-water swimming pool awaits or relax on the sun loungers on the poolside terrace listening to music or simply soaking up the southern Italian sun. Dine together beneath the stone gazebo and chat long into the evening by one of the outdoor relaxation areas. Beyond your private grounds, the estate (also home to Trullo Acanto) boasts shared use of an children’s play area, outdoor gym and organic kitchen garden. Guests of Trullo Barbagianni can also use their own padel court (padel coaches can be organised). The services that can be arranged (at an extra cost) seem endless – creating memorable opportunities is part of the overall experience here. From well-being, beauty and fitness sessions to gastronomic dinners, star-gazing evenings, cookery classes and personalised tours, there are so many ideas to discuss before you arrive. One of our many favourites has to be outdoor movie nights with popcorn under the stars. Make the most of the beauty of the Valle d’Itria, a captivating part of Puglia. Start off in Cisternino, just over 3km by car, with its characterful warren of old lanes, little squares and white-washed houses, surrounded by glorious Apulian landscapes of olive groves, vines, historic farmhouses and trulli.     Other gems of the region include Alberobello, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Ceglie Messapica and Ostuni (known as La Città Bianca), all with their own stories to tell, whilst the sandy beach, lighthouse and thermal baths of Torre Canne can be easily reached for another magical day out.

Trullo Barbagianni is set within a 6-hectare estate with olive trees close to the picturesque town of Cisternino. Located just off a country road, pass landscapes of olive groves, vineyards, dry stone walls, old farmhouses and trulli as you explore this enchanting part of Puglia known as the Valle d’Itria.

The old quarter of Cisternino, just over 3km by car, will truly capture your heart with its authentic character and charm – it is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. Get lost in the maze of narrow lanes, piazzi and white-washed houses with glorious views of the countryside from its limestone hill. There’s a bustling ambience on summer evenings as visitors and locals alike gather to enjoy food from the town’s famous fornelli (butcher shops where the meat is grilled in front of you) or drink and dine on atmospheric restaurant terraces.

There are so many more Apulian jewels within a short distance. Ceglie Messapica (19km) lies in the heart of the Valle d’Itria and has gained quite a reputation for its gastronomy whilst Martina Franca (13km) is particularly loved for its baroque architecture. Even closer is white-washed Locorotondo (8km), another one of the country’s most beautiful villages, with incredible vistas from its perched position.

Not forgetting Alberobello (16km) of course, the iconic Italian town with its traditional trulli, now classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Puglia’s most visited destinations. In the other direction, Ostuni (20km), known as La Città Bianca, is yet another highlight of this captivating region.

Heading towards the coast instead, the Trulli Riviera awaits whether you are seeking idyllic bays, trendy summer beach clubs or charming fishing villages serving local seafood delights. Torre Canne (13km) is the closest stretch of coastline with its long sandy beach, lighthouse and thermal baths. Meanwhile, golf lovers can enjoy a round  at San Domenico Golf Club (21km) whilst this area also offers horseback riding and seasonal watersports.
