Description

Villa is located between the villages of Gordes and Murs in Southeast Provence-Alpes, a region renowned for its picturesque landscape, rolling hills, and vibrant market towns.

The ruins of one of the structures that belonged to the 12th-century Sénanque Abbey, a former Cistercian monastery today popular with tourists for its blooming lavender gardens, were utilised to construct this magnificent house.

The vast property is bordered by 70 acres of unspoilt forest, fragrant fields, and fruit and almond trees, making it the perfect place for people who enjoy relaxing in attractive settings and losing track of time.

Fortunately, there are several places to see the magnificent views of the unbroken forests and Mount Sainte-Victoire, including the main tower.

Up to 16 people can stay in this eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom house; some of the rooms are contemporary with bleached wood and plain materials, while others have oak wood furniture and paintings with gold-framed frames.
The farmhouse-style kitchen is equipped with everything you need to feel at home during your stay and is ideal for cooking delectable meals using fresh goods from nearby markets and serving them in the dining room or on the patio. The gym will keep you in shape and guilt-free during your vacation, while the two living areas are where the whole family can congregate in the evenings to enjoy a drink of wine or hot chocolate.
The route leading up to the house is quite magical; the main road leads you onto a private garden drive where you drop into a little valley, past a 500-year-old oak tree standing tall and proud, before arriving at the imposing mansion, constructed of honey-colored Provençal stone.
Two sizable wings that open from the central circular tower welcome you into a setting of chic tranquilly.
The vast lawn is covered in trees, bushes, and flowerbeds, providing a tonne of shade and lots of room for exploration. The pool, which was made with natural stone all around and descending steps for accessibility, is perfectly visible from the back patio.
With such a gorgeous backdrop, it's nearly effortless to spend the entire day lounging around the house, whether you're dining al fresco into the chilly evenings on the spacious patio area, cooling off on scorching afternoons in the alluring pool, or exploring every nook and cranny of the magical property.
If you get tired of unwinding, the nearby village of Gordes (5 km) has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay, including authentic cafés and restaurants, winding streets, adorable little shops, and a weekly market selling everything from lavender products and artisanal cheeses to traditional souvenirs.
The neighbouring village, Murs (4 km), is surrounded by cherry trees, orchards, and vineyards in the renowned wine region of the Côtes du Ventoux.
In the ambiance of French bistros and wine bars, you may sample local vintages and fresh grapes while admiring the centuries-old architecture.
Driving distances from larger cities like Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, each of which is teeming with sightseeing opportunities, premium dining options, and entertaining attractions.
Notably, Aix-en-Provence is home to several lush parks and museums, while Avignon has a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites that will keep you busy studying French history and culture.
