Description

The glorious Villa Monika is the ideal choice for exploring the island of Krk. Offering fabulous views of Soline Bay, this 4-bedroom villa in the small village of Klimno impresses inside and out. It has a spacious terrace and pool just fifty metres from the sea.

A heated pool and underfloor heating keep life at Villa Monika comfortable all year round. Suitable for up to 8 people, the villa features an enticing terrace with a covered seating area, sun loungers and a gas barbecue. You can walk straight inside to access all the indoor amenities. There’s a tastefully styled, open-plan lounge with a 65-inch TV, a corner sofa and a dining area, and a kitchen equipped with a coffee machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher and everything else you need.

One of the four bedrooms is on the lower floor, with a king-size bed, private bathroom, TV, and terrace access. The remaining three are upstairs and have similar features. Two of them also enjoy beautiful sea views from their terraces. The villa is air-conditioned and provides internet access and parking, too.

The island of Krk is situated in northern Croatia and is easily accessible by road from the city of Rijeka, the airport is located on Krk. The island has many beaches and popular destinations, such as pretty Vrbnik, which offer excursions within a 15-minute drive. The fortified town of Krk, with sights such as the Frankopan Castle, is only 20km from Klimno.

Connected to the mainland by a bridge, the ‘Golden Isle’ of Krk is the largest island in Croatia. Sitting in the middle of Kvarner Bay, the island is lined with endless pebble beaches and is within easy reach of the city of Rijeka and the Italian and Slovenian borders. Villa Monika is located in the small town of Klimno, which has a couple of restaurants and a small convenience store. Bigger supermarkets can be found in Silo and Malinska.

Krk Town is an excellent place to get a feel for the island’s history. Among its main attractions are the Frankopan Castle, which looks out to sea and offers particularly good views from its newly renovated 12th-century  tower. Also of architectural interest are the town’s Cathedral of the  Assumption and adjacent St Quirinus’ Church. You can look forward to relaxing on Krk’s seafront promenade with its chilled cafés and bars, and if you visit in August, you may well catch the annual Krk Fair. Whenever you arrive, seek out the Volsonis bar to have a drink underground in an atmospheric Roman catacomb.

The island is big on activity, offering a wide range of water sports, such as scuba diving, quad biking, rock climbing, zip lines, ziplines and more. The Edison Zipline near Vrbnik is a big attraction that offers spectacular views as you descend.
