The village and its surroundings also provide beautiful landscapes perfect for leisurely walks. Local restaurants are just a short 10 minute drive away, where you can savor delicious regional dishes. The villa is just a 15 minutes’ drive from Limoux, a beautiful town on the river Aude with lovely restaurants and bars around its main square. It’s set in the heart of Cathar country in glorious nature, and in an environment known for its slightly cooler summers. The location makes an ideal starting base for many hikes and discoveries, both natural and cultural. From the famous medieval fortified city of Carcassonne, 30 minutes’ drive away and the well-known Canal du Midi, there’s plenty to see. Day excursions could include trips to the endless miles of golden sandy beaches or wandering around beautiful cities such as Toulouse, known as La Ville Rose, Narbonne, and Mirepoix. All are perfect examples of traditional French towns full of history, amazing architecture, weekly markets and fantastic bars and restaurants.
