Description

DESCRIPTION

Welcome to a private hamlet in Provence, nested in the middle of a 45-hectare estate of wild and splendid nature, for a restful stay in the Vaucluse region. You will be housed in a refined and entirely restored 17th century residence where you can relish the perfect serenity of a remote area, lulled by the song of the cicadas. Feel like a massage or a cross training session? Your host has assured that there is a concierge service available.

The price includes:
- Overnight stays
- A concierge service
- A trial offer: a one hour massage for two people;
- The end of stay cleaning and a weekly housecleaning of the common areas.

For any other services such as aqua-gym session, shiatsu, osteopathy, etc., don’t hesitate to contact us to know the prices and to help you organise it.

STYLE AND ATMOSPHERE

The pronounced contemporary interior design, the high-grade materials and paintings adorning the walls are sure to seduce any amateur of refinement and art de vivre.
The outside has preserved its typical Provence charm, from the pastel colours to the dry-stone low walls… Surrounding the farmhouse, the landscaped garden overflows with the perfume of lavender, helichrysum, rosemary, and other indigenous plants.
During the summertime, you can enjoy a sunbath or swim in the pool (18 x 4,5 m), with a superb view of the cliffs of Arfuyen and of the Baronnies of Provence. For lunch, the pergola on the hillside will provide you with a shaded spot for family or friendly gatherings. In the evening, when the weather is mild, while some may engage in a match of pétanque (a boules game characteristic of Provence) in the allocated boules area, others can gather on the terraces, the ideal setting to share an aperitif.
During the cooler seasons, you can get together around the fireplace in the lounge with its cathedral ceiling…

INTERACTING WITH THE GUESTS

Your host will greet you upon arrival for a tour of the estate and to exchange practicalities.
A concierge service has been put in place to share with you good adresses or to show you what is on offer: massages, shiatsu, osteopathy, reflexology, yoga, fitness, personalised sport coaching, naturopathy… Prices on request. We work with partners we have carefully selected.

AREA

The Arfuyen Estate benefits of an exceptional natural environment (Mediterranean forests, garrigue, hills…). Tranquillity is guaranteed. There are no neighbours in the vicinity.
The estate is located in the commune of Malaucène, the main starting point for biking up Mount Ventoux. A mountain that is also known for its pedestrian hikes (GR: Grandes Randonnées aka official hike routes) and its ski station (Mount Serein).
The cities of Vaison-la-Romaine (10min away), Orange or Avignon (40min away), enriched with a strong Gallo-Roman heritage, organise summer festivals that are celebrated internationally.
The gorges of Toulourenc and of Nesque, the Montmirail Laces, the Boxwoods of the Baronnies are essential for amateurs of treks and other outdoor sportive activities: via ferrata, rock-climbing, paragliding…
Don’t miss out on the marketplaces and typical Provence villages such as Nyons, Crestet, Villedieu, Brantes, Séguret, Le Barroux, Bédoin, Crillon-le-Brave…
Ideal for oenology-oriented tourism, the region takes pride in its renown vineyards: Rasteau, Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Beaumes-de-Venise and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
The surrounding area is home to numerous wine-cellars and restaurants, a list of which we will be able to recommend.
Lastly, you can go and listen to soft Gregorian chant at the two Benedictine monasteries of the Barroux. There you can find shops offering a rich selection of products showcasing their monastic craft.

HOW TO GET THERE

From the main road, you can access the estate via a path that climbs up the hills (7min by car). Low carriage cars to be avoided.
