Description

Sweet Maple is a comfortable tastefully furnished 1100 square foot cottage on the bay of Cape Chin South on the Northern Bruce Peninsula....Ontario's best kept secret and recognized by UNESCO as a "World Biosphere reserve". Cape Chin is situated on the East Side of the Peninsula, a scenic paradise for nature lovers and sports enthusiast alike. To the South of the cottage, less than 500m walking distance is the Bruce Trail that winds 11 km through Smokey Head Bluff (provinvial park) to a trailhead north of Lion’s Head. We are situated between two villages Tobermory, which is within the Bruce National Park ( here the ferry, M.S. Chi-Cheemaun leaves for Manitoulin Island from May to Thanksgiving ) and Lion's Head with its lovely public sand beach and protected boat dock. Both villages offer grocery stores, LCBO's, banks, shops and restaurants. Come and enjoy the cottage's relaxing atmosphere, looking out over the treetops to clear turquoise waters of Georgian Bay just meters away. Perched on top of the Niagara Escarpment you will experience spectacular sunrises that only compete with its spectacular moonrises, copy&past this link for weather, sunrise and moonrise schedule.

Outside of the cottage, you have your choice in seating areas. Through the glass sliding doors is a deck that has a cover with new BBQ and wind screen for those rainy days or when the sun is too hot. A few steps down leads to a large lower deck with lots of seating and a unique pair of benches that fold into a picnic tables that can accommodate 8 people for dinner all with a view of the shore.
Across the lawn and down to the shore where this additional seating and great access to the water. The shoreline is rocky, swim shoes recommended, but drops off gradually and very accessible to swimmers.
The cottage is a 1,100 square feet with three bedrooms and a very open living room dining and kitchen area with many beautiful views to the shore. The cabin has laminate wood flooring throughout and a beautiful cedar board interior. The main living area of the cottage is all open concept. The Living area has large semi-circular leather couch and two lazyboy recliners. Couple steps up from the living area are three bedrooms, the larger with queen bed, the second near the bathroom with a double and the middle smaller room with a single bed. The dining table that seats four people comfortably has a nice view overlooking the covered porch and the bay, there is also a pot-belly propane stove here that is thermostatically controlled for those cool evenings. In the kitchen you will find all the standard amenities including a small island for food preparation, fridge, stove, oven, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and microwave. There are cupboards with all the required utensils and cooking supplies, adequate counter space and a pantry. There is a washer/dryer for laundry and the cottage has built in vacuum.

There is a satellite TV in the living room to the left of the beautiful rock propane fireplace. Wireless WiFi is also available.
