Think of trips to the cultural city on the river Charente: Rochefort (35 km.) or to the famous Fort Boyard (36 km.), which lies between the inviting islands of Ile-de-Ré (about 28 km.) or Ile-d'Oléron (85 km.). On both islands, many will be amazed by the vast green fields, fine sandy beaches and quaint streets. Wine lovers can also indulge their love of wine here; 650 hectares of vineyards to discover on each island! Prefer to get out into nature? The nature reserve Marais Poitevin (approx. 18 km.), or the Green Venice, can be enjoyed on foot or by bike. The real flora and fauna connoisseurs can also explore the area on a guided boat. An absolute must!
