Description

Villa Martangie's location between the beautiful Weston and Reeds Bay beaches on the west coast offers sublime panoramic views, so you'll never miss a second of coastal bliss. This location is a fantastic base to explore this magical island between Holetown and Gibbes Beach. Villa Martangie boasts four exceptional bedroom suites, sensational living spaces and superb outdoor spaces. It is a fantastic choice for groups of friends or a family holiday.

The turquoise waters at Weston Beach and Reeds Bay are very calm, and the beaches are idyllic. On the southern side of Weston Beach, there are some shallow reefs where you can snorkel with the small, colourful tropical fish. The beach adjoins a small fishing village where you will likely see some local fishermen bring in the day's catch in their colourful boats. It is a great spot to pick up some fresh fish for dinner. Reeds Bay is remarkably unspoiled, with some lovely picnic spots.

Villa Martangie is a superb villa for relaxation, rejuvenation and spending time with your loved ones. Its elegant interiors are sprinkled with vibrant contemporary works of art and a wonderful blend of vintage and modern furnishings. The expansive entrance sits under a characterful, beamed, vaulted ceiling, leading to a fabulous movie room with three sumptuous sofas adorned with black and white scatter cushions, striking art and a giant wall-mounted television. A colourful kitchen sits in the heart of the villa to be used by guests and your cook, who will prepare two consecutive yummy meals each day, usually breakfast and lunch. The kitchen boasts excellent appliances, including a Nespresso coffee machine for your early morning cups of coffee. The main living space is exquisite in white and turquoise, the colours of the beach, and leads out to a splendid shaded terrace where you are likely to spend most of your time. The mixologists amongst you can prepare delicious cocktails, which you can enjoy at the bar or on luxury sun loungers on the deck. You can dine alfresco around the statement dining table, mesmerised by the stunning Caribbean sea views. Your barbecue masters can prepare a feast on the barbecue while you relax, listening to the soothing sounds of the sea and enjoying the soft, gentle breeze. A separate deck sits around the corner with sun loungers lined up against a lovely waterfall pool for those moments when you want to take a refreshing dip.

Villa Marangie boasts four exceptional bedrooms with ceiling fans to ensure you dive deep into shut-eye. Two of the rooms enjoy private balconies with spectacular sea views. The master bedroom suite is one of the bedrooms with a private balcony. It also enjoys a sumptuous super kingsize bed, a television with international channels for long lazy lie-ins and a lounge area with a sofa bed suitable for two children. The bathrooms are incredibly luxurious and come with gorgeous toiletries.

As well as being spoilt by the services of your chef, a housekeeper and laundress will be available to ensure that your stay is as relaxing as possible. Your meals will likely include delicious Bajan specialities and 'full works' breakfasts. The staff are wonderful and likely to have rum punches and canapes waiting for your arrival!

Villa Martangie enjoys a fabulous west coast Barbados location between the beaches of Weston and Reeds Bay. Other beaches nearby include Holetown, Sandy Lane, Gibbes Beach, Paynes Beach, Batts Rock Bay and Mullins Beach. The Folkestone Marine Park in Holetown spans several kilometres along the coast and was set up to preserve the coral and shallow areas inhabited by turtles. The marine park is separated into various zones, including two sports zones where motorised aquatic sports are permitted, a scientific zone and a recreational zone where you can snorkel in peace and discover the fascinating underwater world. There are snorkelling opportunities in the mellow waters and reefs at Holetown Beach. Holetown is also renowned for its fantastic dining scene. First and Second Streets boasts some quirky bars that embrace the spirit of the Caribbean.

Paynes Bay Beach sits in the parish of St James, south of Sandy Lane and Holetown and north of Fitts Village and Batts Rock Bay. It is the perfect sport for swimming and watersports such as kayaking, sailing and jet skis. You can easily walk from Paynes Bay Beach to Sandy Lane Beach. Paynes Bay also boasts the Paynes Bay Fishing Complex, a fish processing hall for the fishermen of the west coast where you can buy fresh local fish. On Fridays, you can buy freshly grilled fish from vendors with delicious Bajan side dishes and Bajan rum to wash it down.

Despite being drawn to the beaches, this heavenly island also boasts a stunning interior of rolling hills and wonderful lush botanical gardens. If you only have time for one of the gardens, try and visit the fantastic Flower Forest Botanical Gardens near the village of Bloomsbury, Saint Joseph. It is hard to imagine that the gardens were once a sugar plantation as today, it spans fifty-three acres, all sprinkled with beautiful plants, trees and flowers.

If shopping is your thing, the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre is one of the most stylish, upmarket places to head to. It is home to the world’s leading retail brands, including Armani, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Gucci and Ralph Lauren. The open courtyard oozes a wonderful ambience and boasts a stunning waterfall feature. The brightly painted shops at the Chattle Village are renovated Chattle homes and are absolutely charming and worth a stop for souvenirs.

Barbados is famous for cricket, polo and golf. It is home to many prestigious golf clubs, including The Royal Westmoreland Golf Club and Sandy Lane, where there are three courses. Holders Hill is the main polo venue on the island, where you can spend a very civilised afternoon watching the polo while enjoying a superb afternoon tea at the same time. Cricket fans enjoy a trip to Kensington Oval, the oldest, prime sports venue in Barbados, established in 1882. Aside from cricket, Kensington Oval is also the venue for soccer, hockey, concerts, music festivals and the summer festival of Barbados, Crop Over.
