Description

Built in the 12th century by the Knights Templar as a fortress protecting the land against pillaging Saracens, this chateau in the French Riviera is now a luxurious holiday retreat with a dramatic backdrop within the French Alps.
The estate consists of three independent apartments hosting up to 18 guests, making it ideal for groups of families travelling together. Each apartment has been uniquely renovated to include all the comforts of home, not to mention superbly designed bathrooms with craftsman-style features, well-appointed kitchens, elegant sitting rooms, and charming outdoor lounge and dining spaces.
Set on 11 private acres, guests will enjoy relaxing dips in the private pool, plus hiking trails with views that will never be forgotten.
The chateau's hilltop location provides ultimate peace and tranquillity, with no neighbours in sight. However, when in need of a bit of culture, the village of Saint Andre les Alpes is just 2km away, with shops, delicious cuisine, and village tours.
The highlight of the area is Lake Castillon, with pristine turquoise waters that make it one of the most popular water sports lakes in France. The chateau not only offers beautiful aerial views of the lake, but exclusive access to a private beach as well!


#### Features
All 3 apartments, hosted within the Chateau, can cater for different sized parties making them ideal for a number of families holidaying together. Saint Jean can sleep up to 8 guests, Saint Pierre sleeps 6 and Saint Paul sleeps 4.
On the ground floor the Apartment Saint Paul has a kitchen and a vaulted dining room/living room with SKY TV and DVD (that doubles as a bedroom with 2 boat beds). The dining table can seat up to 16 guests. There is a further bedroom with en-suite bathroom to sleep 4 guests in total.
Apartment Saint Jean has a living room with French ceilings and a stone fireplace. There is a well equipped kitchen, living room (complete with bar, pool table and dining room table) that also has a pull out double sofa-bed. There are 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms as well as an extra WC.
On the first floor the Apartment Saint Pierre has a kitchen, living/bedroom (with 2 single beds) and a dining room. There is also a separate WC. On the second floor of the Apartment Saint Pierre there are 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a further living room area.
Outside you will enjoy 11 acres of private land, overlooking the Lake of Castillon (an incredible turquoise lake that you can swim in). There are no neighbours so you have complete privacy. Enjoy the heated 14x7m swimming pool with adjoining pergola and dining area that can seat the entire group.

#### Location
The chateau is situated just 2km from the village of Saint Andre les Alpes. Nice, Cannes and Monaco are all within 104km of the chateau as well as a wealth of pretty medieval villages in the nearby area.
There are great restaurants locally. There is fishing on the private lake less than 300m away, accessed via a small track, or alternatively head 3km by road to the public beach on the other side. There is horse riding, pony trekking and golf nearby the chateau. You will also be able to find paddle boats, white-water rafting, canyoning and paragliding in the area plus some wonderful trekking opportunities.
