Description

Villa Kamáres above Skópelos-Chóra on a 4000 m2 property is perfect for those seeking tranquility, for big families as well for smale groups.

All four bedrooms have air conditioners, a private bathroom with shower / WC, bath towel warmers, electric heater and hairdryer. The three bedrooms with French beds have Coco Mat mattresses for a wonderful sleeping comfort. From each bedroom you have beautiful views to the sea and the neighboring island of Alonissos. Two bedrooms on the lower floor have covered place with table and two chairs.

The large living room with an open fireplace and the adjoining dining with a big table for 10 people. The modern kitchen with ceramic hob and granite cover is equipped with every needed tool - you will not miss anything!

On one terrace one can sit in the shade of an olive tree, play a game of garden chess. On the other terrace on the other side of the villa one can enjoy a cool dip in the pool (10x4m). In spring and autumn, the pool can also be heated (heat pump). A big plus is the salt water, which means that even people with sensitive skin can bathe without worrying. In the shade of the grapes on the pergola with a cool drink and an interesting book the time just flies by. Or one can simply relax, watch the swallows, or the incoming or outgoing yachts in the harbor. A candle light dinner on one of the terraces with a spectacular view, simply priceless!

The new covered summer kitchen with BBQ & pizza oven invites guests to cook outdoors. And a candlelight dinner on a terrace with sensational views; priceless!

Please note: the little road to the villa Kamaáes is relatively steep with tight curves and is therefore not suitable for large cars.

Island Description:
You will love the island!

The Greeks call it also ‘island in green and blue’. The interplay of the many shades of green and with the infinite blue of the sea and the sky really is always impressive. Enjoy a drive from Skopelos Chora on the island road over Agnontas, Panormos, Milia, Elios up to Glossa. Admire the magnificent views to Skiathos, Evia and the Pelion. Treat yourself in the port of Loutraki in a Taverna a cool drink with a Tsatziki, a Greek salad or anything else!

Also interesting is a visit to one of the most interesting monasteries of the island. On the Palouki opposite the port of Skopelos Chora you will find the Prodromos Monastery, the romantic Taxiarchon Monastery, the nunnery Evangelistria or the fortified monastery of Agia Varvara, with great views, even in good weather to Mount Athos. It is also worth it to take a look in the folklore museum or even just to sit in one of the cafes on the Paralia!

Food & Beaches:

Everywhere you will find nice restaurants, such as in the garden restaurant Perivoli, above the quiet Paralia inside the town you’ll find the restaurants Alexander & To Rodi, traditional tavernas in the old port of Molo & Klimataria. In the Ta Kimata try to order Kokoras (rooster) in wine sauce. Order in the taverna tou Dimitraki 'Tzipouro'; you will get small appetizers with each round, most of them with seefood. At Anna's one will find a special kitchen which has to be tried, or the delicious fish specialties and the beautiful sunsets from the Taverna & Pavolos in Agnontas or the for taverns near Panormosstrand, Blo, Asterias, Nikos and Rigas. Highly recommended is the Taverna Agnanti in Glossa with the large terrace and an indescribable view because Glossa is also known as 'the balcony of Sporades'. The village is built on the hills high up and you therefore will have a spectacular view of the aegean sea with very nice view, enjoy the neighboring islands of Skiathos and Evia, and as well the Pelion. And the sunsets!? You will be impressed!!!

The beautiful beaches have crystal clear water. If one likes nudity, so the Velanio beach is the right place, just behind the beach of Stafylos. All the beaches are mostly pebble beaches, except the beach of Limnonari. After the long-drawn bay of Panormos with the little harbor Blo for yachts and sailing boots there is the beach of Milia. However, there are even in the summer little quiet and deserted beaches to discover by boat.

Boats & excursions:

Rent a boat or take a trip with one of the excursion boats - this is for young and old an experience. Visit the National Marine Park of Alonnissos or simply the island with its beautiful old town. In 1965, the village was almost destroyed by a strong earthquake and most of the houses were uninhabitable. Impressed from the location of the destroyed village at about 250 meters altitude, many foreigners bought the ruins and turned them in to cottages.

The famous Greek homeopath George Vithoulkas has brought an International Academy of Classical Homeopathy into life on Alonnissos.

Also a trip to Skiathos, for many also known the Ibiza of Greece, with its famous Koukounaries beach, will inspire you.

Whatever happens, just never forget your camera!

The only thing on this island which is really not working correctly are the clocks - instead of the siga-siga (slowly-slowly), two weeks of holiday will pass by in a hurry!!
