Description

Nestled in the Manistee National Forest is this 3 BR Chalet style cottage. The cottage is 3 bedrooms, 7 beds, one bath and plenty of room to roam. Sleeps 10 with 2 double beds 2 single beds, 1 queen bed and 1 trundle bed. Internet and TV with DVD no cable. The cottage doesn't have central air but during summer months a small window AC unit can be used on the main floor.

The property is located in Walhalla Shores association, it is a bit more secluded from neighbors backing up to the National forest also less than a five minute walk to the shared access beach, fishing dock boat launch and boat docks on all sports Long Lake.

Walhalla was originally an Indian Village, located near Long Lake in the heart of the Manistee National Forest, approximately 17 miles east of the town of Ludington. This area is a nature lover's dream. The National Forest, Pere Marquette River and nearby beaches of Lake Michigan combine to offer unlimited recreational possibilities.

The Manistee National Forest offers thousands of acres of land for hiking, snowmobiling, hunting, dirt biking and ATV trails. It is the only national forest with an ATV trail system in western Lower Michigan, and connects with an additional 180 miles of 'off road vehicle' trails east of Highway 37. Over thirty lakes and three rivers in the area offer salmon, steelhead, rainbow and brown trout fishing.

Enjoy winter snowshoeing on local trails or at Ludington State Park. Snowmobile in the Manistee National Forest. Ski or snowboard 40 miles away at Caberfae Peaks in Cadillac.
Ludington State Park is located just a short drive from Walhalla and is called 'Queen of Michigan's Parks.' It features sand dunes and virgin forests, miles of sandy beach, 14 miles of hiking and biking trails and three campgrounds. Fishing charters are also available in Ludington, as well as canoe and kayak rentals, watercraft and boat rentals - even dune buggy rides.

Walhalla is a great place to escape city life and 'get away from it all.
