Description

In a leafy spot within the Magra Valley and close to the heart of Sarzana town sits Villa I Ritratti. This spacious holiday home has been carefully renovated and blends the traditional with the modern to perfection. Bright, contemporary art features in almost every room, giving Villa I Ritratti a totally unique look and feel.

The Villa is surrounded by Mediterranean trees, with the garden also offering views over to the Apuan Alps. The villa is well-located for easy travel to the Cinque Terre National Park and its five famous seaside villages. Amenities and attractions are close by too, with Sarzana town centre just minutes walk away.

The ground floor is where you'll find the stylish living room. Stunning art pieces feature alongside touches of rustic charm, including the area of exposed stone wall and the attractive fireplace. It's a cosy place to relax and enjoy a drink as you sink back into one of the comfortable sofas. The dining room also features areas of exposed stone wall, which complement the tiled floor and traditional wood dining table. Preparing and cooking meals is easy in the fully-equipped kitchen.

There are five double bedrooms in total at Villa I Ritratti, each with its own style and artistically themed name. There's a romantic ground floor en-suite bedroom with its own entrance in the adjacent house, whilst there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs in main building, accessed by an external staircase from courtyard.

Within the walled garden is a private pool that's surrounded by a terrace with outdoor seating close by. There's also a partially-covered patio with a large dining table and a built-in barbecue for enjoying al fresco meals. The lawns are home to various trees and plants, creating a pretty idyll for taking in the countryside and mountain views.

Sarzana old town is less than 10 minutes away from Villa I Ritratti on foot, so you can be discovering its beautiful medieval architecture in no time at all. Your historical sightseeing list must definitely include Fortezzo di Sarzanello and Sarzana Cathedral.

Within easy driving distance or train is the famous Cinque Terre. These five ancient coastal villages are known for their stunning natural beauty and the pastel-coloured houses that cling to rugged cliff edges.

#### Location
Villa I Ritratti enjoys a great position, close to Sarzana town centre and all its restaurants, bars and shops yet with lovely countryside views. You can even reach a few restaurants within a five-minute walk from the villa. A supermarket is also a short drive away.

Take a 10-minute stroll from the villa and you'll be in the heart of Sarzana. This medieval town is incredibly picturesque, with the typical brightly-coloured buildings you'd expect from such an ancient Italian town. Streets and squares are lined with historic sites of interest, including 15th-Century La Cittadella Fortezza and 13th-Century Sarzana Cathedral.

The famous Cinque Terre is within easy reach; either by train from Sarzana or by car. The closest village to the villa is Riomaggiore (32km), with the drive there taking about 45 minutes. These five ancient fishing villages are made up of clusters of pastel-coloured buildings perched on cliff edges and hillsides. Each village also has its own personality and range of things to do. Walk along the clifftop trail known as ‘The Path of Love' between Riomaggiore and Manarola for stunning sea views. Monterosso al Mare has a sandy beach, perfect for everyone to relax on and enjoy a swim.

Lerici (9km) is nestled within the famous Gulf of Poets and is the best place to go for a day out by the sea. The coastline that runs from Lerici to San Terenzo for about 4km boasts long, sandy stretches, as well as more tucked-away, pebble beaches to enjoy.

The villa is close to the Liguria-Tuscany border, so why not cross over into Tuscany to visit some more fascinating places. Carrara (19km) is famous for its marble quarries, with a museum that covers the history of marble production, as well the city's ancient past.
Also in Tuscany are the coastal towns of glamorous Forte dei Marmi (35km) and Viareggio (45km). Viareggio is famous for an annual carnival that's one of the most popular in Europe.
