Description

Set across the first floor of a large stone farmhouse, this villa in rural Chianti offers comfortable lodgings for six people. The lounge flows through an attractive wide brick arch into a dining room and kitchen to create a convivial open-plan space, with typically Tuscan touches in the terracotta floors and tiled and beamed ceilings. It’s a place where you can easily picture enjoying each other’s company, whether you’re rustling up a meal, relaxing with a good book, or playing a board game with the kids.

The luscious views of the surrounding vineyards are best captured from the villa’s generous wraparound terrace. The terrace is very spacious, equipped with a pizza oven and barbecue. Below, in the pretty garden, there’s an inviting private pool with sundeck, the place to while away a few hours soaking up the sun interspersed with refreshing dips. But you’ll want to explore the area, too, and this villa will put you on the doorstep of the market town of Radda and its wineries, and within easy reach of Florence and Siena.

Our Thoughts

Il Boschetto is a particularly well-appointed villa in the heart of Chianti. Its location on the first floor guarantees stellar views of the countryside, an asset accentuated by the large stone terrace, with its flower-filled pots. You could set up camp there from morning to nightfall, with meals from the barbecue enjoyed under the pergola. Just a couple of kilometres from Radda, this villa puts you’re right in the heart of wine country and we are sure a few delicious bottles from the local vineyards will make their way to your dining table.

Notes

There is a laundry room on the ground floor. The ground floor is a storeroom, there is no-one else resident at the villa.The owner will allow two dogs on request.

The villa is close to a main road. There may be some traffic noise from time to time.

There is a bar and restaurant 300 metres from the villa.



Pool

The pool is set above ground, surrounded by a hedge, and has a paved sundeck at its top edge, on which there are sun loungers, deckchairs and a parasol. The water is reached via metal ladder steps.

Pool size: 4.5m x 9m, 1.5m deep. Open May through September, weather permitting.
