Description

Experience dreamy, unspoilt French countryside from this chateau in Haute Marne, where true peace reigns. Your stone 3 bedroom house is a private part of Chateau Beaucharm, from here you can wander the green gardens, meadows, streams, and forests uninterrupted.

The house drips with old style charm: beautiful wooden beams, tile, and stone. Eight guests can dine comfortably at each dining table (take your pick - inside or out). If you fire up the grill, you can dine al fresco surrounded by trees and hills. Nearby you'll find all manner of country activities besides hiking. You can ride horseback, play golf or tennis, or swim in the nearby lake.

The closest town is Bourbonne-les-Bains (6 km), known for its hot springs and spas - you'll also find several restaurants and cafes. Wine lovers will be in heaven here; Haute Marne is directly between Champagne, Burgundy and Chablis, three of the most famous wine regions in the world. You'll certainly want to pick up a bottle of bubbly when you visit Langres (35 km) - the cheese of the same name produced there has a concave cap meant to be splashed with Champagne.

#### Features
The house is situated in a part of the castle with a private entrance and is both spacious and furnished with great care. All 3 bedrooms (3 double beds &2 singles) have their own adjoining, bathroom facility with shower, sink and WC. The beds will be made up for you on arrival with fresh, luxurious linens.

- Master Bedroom with super king size bed (180cm) and two single beds (90cm)
- Two Double bedrooms with king size beds (160cm)

The ground floor has a large, beautiful room (exposed beams and stone walls) that comprises a sitting area with fireplace, a dining area situated in front of a medieval fireplace with wood stove and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator etc. There is also a flat screen TV with HDMI cable.
The house sits within one hectare of private grounds, half of which is garden with several attractive spots to relax in. There is also a barbecue area and a ping-pong table.

#### Location
The Haute-Marne lies in the south of the Champagne-Ardennes region, a beautiful and unspoilt area between Burgundy and the Vosges. The landscape consists of wooded trails in beautiful valleys where villages lie hidden. Although time has not completely stopped, this is how authentic French rural life felt. The Haute Marne is sparsely populated with only 30 inhabitants per square kilometre. It has a rich history dating from Roman times, including the spa in Bourbonne les Bains (just 6 km away) where you can relax for a day.
There are many villages, towns and castles that are well worth a visit. The medieval property sits at the edge of the hamlet and directly behind the house are the meadows, streams and forests where you can walk for hours without a human encounter. What you may encounter are the many animals that live here such as deer, foxes, boars, pheasants, partridges, martens, badgers, stoats, etc.
In the immediate surroundings you can enjoy many activities such as hiking, golf, tennis, pool, the lake (where you can swim, eat and row), thermal baths, casinos, horseback riding, restaurants, wine tasting and glassworks. Within about half an hour is Langres, a beautiful, historic walled town with renaissance houses.
Even golfers and lovers of art and culture are well catered for. Moreover, many villages organize an annual village festival and/or flea market. An hour drive away, both Dijon and Nancy are both well worth a visit.
Both the Champagne and Burgundy regions are known for their fine wines. If you appreciate wine it is a must to visit the wine route of the Grand Crus of Burgundy and visit the various wine cellars to taste and possibly to buy a bottle. Perhaps you'll open this wine during the Christmas meal and you'll think back to your holiday here.
