Ideally positioned in the Fornillo area of Positano, high enough to enjoy views, yet at a short distance from one of the nicest beaches, Villa Marea is a much loved and very charming 18th century family home, full of character and memories.

The entrance door hides a terrace with a lemon grove which runs along the ground floor rooms.
One level up is a large paved terrace, a real garden of delight adorned with classic style columns supporting a thick and vibrant bougainvillea and wisteria pergola. Large terracotta pots hold mature jasmine, palms and colourful geraniums, with views of Positano, the village of Fornillo and its “presepe” completing the picture of this historical house.
The well maintained interiors, featuring high vaulted ceilings and terracotta tiles, are furnished with period pieces. Many original paintings and portraits, prints and ceramics give the house a very intimate feeling and an old world atmosphere. Built on three levels with a mezzanine in between, Villa Marea enjoys double access: from a typical stairway street and internally from a private garage, a real rarity in Positano.

Steps to mezzanine floor:
Dining corner for 7, with window and door opening to the upper terrace, furnished with outdoor table and chairs, granite and wrought iron benches, sun loungers.

Thirteen steps to second floor:
Double bedroom with matrimonial gondola style bed and in built safe, opening to small balcony with views.
Single bedroom suitable for a child with window sharing same view.
Shower room.

Access:
22 Steps from road level to entrance or 25 internal steps from garage leading directly into the house.

Facilities:
Cordless telephone, washing machine, TV (Italian channels), private garage (6 meters length x 5 meters width x 2,5 meters height), ironing facilities and hairdryer.

Maid service: 2 hours, 2 days a week. Change of linen on Saturdays.

Check-in procedure
Check-in time is between 4,00 and 8,00 p.m., from Monday to Saturday. You will be met and taken to the booked accommodation, asked for a photo copy of your Id or passport, any extras and the Breakage deposit (in cash only in any currencies) € 500,00 – this is refunded on your departure day, less any breakages.

We strongly recommend contacting our land agents the day before or early morning of your arrival day, to let them know how you intend getting to the resort and approximate arrival time, they will in this occasion be able to advise of any local fiestas, roads closed etc...

Check-out time is between 07:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., from Monday to Saturday.
On departure the property has to be left tidy, with the kitchen clean and free from trash. Should these conditions not be respected, there will a deduction from the deposit - amount corresponding to the extra cleaning time.

Arrival and departure times can be arranged outside these times or Sunday, for this service a supplement of € 55,00 is applied.

Location
From Villa Marea you can easily reach the Pier and the beaches by descending a pedestrian shortcut or walking through the old stairways of Positano, the ´scalinatelle´ (little streets consisting of narrow pathways and steps). This is something not to be missed! Climbing down the steps, passing by the most visited places by tourists, you will discover and unveil enchanting angles of Positano, and then, once you have visited all the little streets by foot, you can always go back up by the local shuttle bus!

The location of is in the heart of Positano, close to shops and restaurants too making it possible to reach either on foot. Situated in one of the most scenic areas of Positano center (Fornillo area, from Villa Marea you can easily reach the Big Beach and the Pier (ferry to Capri and Amalfi) or the beautiful Fornillo beach.

How to get there
There are several ways to get to Positano / Amalfi Coast from Naples Capodichino Airport or Naples / Salerno Train station either by renting a car or by public transport. It is also possible to arrange private transfer directly to the your property.

Once at the property you can get around fine without the car as parking in the towns is hard to come by and expensive. Public Buses operate year-around connecting Ravello to Amalfi, where are buses to all the Amalfi Coast villages and Sorrento area. Ferries (from May to October) operate a service between Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento - Capri Island - Naples and Salerno.
