Description

Our courtyard consists of three houses, the main house is occupied by ourselves. The detached cottage is a former stable building that was renovated in 2015 in a modern style. The farm is located on the edge of the small village of Sassen on the eastern flank of the Hochkelberg. Extensive hikes, bike tours and horse rides in the wonderful, still very original landscape of the Vulkaneifel can be undertaken directly from the house. Away from the marked trails - such as the volcano trail, the historical road or the Hochkelberg panorama trail - you can move freely in the "Children's Wonderland Upper Elbe Valley" in any way.
You will encounter traces of volcanism everywhere: the Hochkelberg itself is an old volcano, the Mosbrucher pond is a silted up mair that is being restored, and the dream path around the Booser Doppelmaar invites you to a wonderful hike. Three Maare with outdoor pools can be reached by car in a short time. In Daun, Manderscheid and Strohn you can also visit museums and exhibitions that impressively illustrate volcanism in the Eifel.
The Moselle region from Koblenz to Trier is easily accessible with numerous wine towns and castles.

Special leisure offers:

Near our village is a holiday park, where u. a. Swimming pool, indoor playgrounds and sports facilities can be used by our holiday guests, sometimes free of charge or at reduced prices.

The Nürburgring can also be reached quickly by car. The racing history of the "green hell" can be experienced in the Ringwerk.

In the village, in the immediate vicinity of the holiday home, there is a nice playground and a large soccer field.

On request, we can enable children with our two Icelandic horses to be ridden by their parents in the surrounding area. For experienced riders also rides.

Pasture space for your own horse is available.
Costs by arrangement.

Furnishing:

The cottage (120 sqm) has an open living area on the lower and upper floors. With a mixture of antique and modern furniture, it is stylishly furnished and also creates a very homely atmosphere through pictures and plants.
It offers enough space for four people. On the spacious upper floor there is a comfortable seat / sofa bed, a double bed and two single beds, a large table with chairs, a bookcase and a wardrobe.
In the basement there is the modern kitchen with branded appliances and complete inventory, as well as a large dining table, a fireplace, a secretary and a wardrobe. The wide sofa can be pulled out into a comfortable double bed. Through the ground-level window you have a clear view of the adjacent valley.
Next door is the spacious, barrier-free bathroom with shower and toilet.

The very large terrace with garden furniture and barbecue facilities is available to guests for their stay outdoors.

Inventory for babies and toddlers (travel cot, high chairs, playpen, changing mat) can be requested from the landlord. Games and books are available for use.

Pets allowed on request.

The landlords

Ten years ago we turned our backs on urban life to make a fresh start in our lovely little village. We haven't regretted it for a day.
We have found everything we want here: an intact, lively village community, rest and relaxation after work, a region that is versatile in every respect and where you can live on weekends and on vacation.
For everyone who wants to be creative and is looking for a place away from the noise and unrest, our farm and the cottage offer the ideal conditions.
We would be happy to welcome guests who can feel comfortable in such a context.
