Lune Hall holds a wonderful location nestled within beautiful Cumbria countryside on the Lune Estate. Overlooking Howgill Fells, the Hall makes a fantastic base for those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors with scenic strolls and bike rides from the front door while enjoying the picturesque scenery. Guests are conveniently situated to enjoy days out in the Lakes or the Dales, both easily reachable in less than an hour's drive.

The Victorian country house has been lovingly modernised by its current owners and today seamlessly combines its original charm with updated interiors and contemporary furnishings. Lune Hall's unique and characterful style with vintage pieces, colourful prints and masses of books will leave guests feeling instantly at home, making it the perfect setting for a reunion of friends or family. The Hall can comfortably accommodate up to fifteen guests across its eight bedrooms, those in larger groups can rent the entire Lune Estate which sleeps twenty-three. On the ground floor is the sociable living space which comprises of two large sitting and drawing rooms, a dining room with seating for sixteen and a fully-equipped kitchen, this is the real hub of the home and the perfect spot for the whole group to gather and reflect on the highlights of the day. On the ground floor is the first of the bedrooms, a double with en-suite shower room, ideal for those who perhaps struggle with stairs. Upstairs, on the second floor are the remaining seven beautifully-appointed bedrooms, six doubles and one single, they each boast en-suite facilities. Two of the bedrooms can be set up with twin single beds on request making them ideal for siblings or friends sharing.

Outside, guests of Lune Hall will enjoy spending sunny Summer evenings enjoying yummy barbecues and dining al fresco on the terrace. The children are bound to enjoy playing games on the large lawns which offer impressive views over the Fells.

Lune Hall is situated on the outskirts of the Cumbria village of Newbiggin-on-Lune. The market town of Kirkby Stephen is less than fifteen minutes away by car, here a variety of helpful amenities, including shops and restaurants, can be found. Guests will enjoy picturesque walks to the village of Ravenstonedale, roughly 40-minutes away on foot, here there are two excellent local pubs, The Black Swan and The King's Head – both fantastic spots for a post-walk drink!

Being situated within the Yorkshire Dales, the Hall is ideal for those looking to explore the great outdoors, with plenty to see, do and explore in the surrounding area. The medieval ruin of Brough Castle is just a 20-minute drive away, here there is a fantastic Ice Cream Parlour with a huge variety of unique and homemade flavours. Continuing on the sweet theme, for chocoholics, Kennedys Fine Chocolates coffee house and factory shop is a must-visit, located in the village of Orton it is less than 15 minutes away. During your stay, we recommend enjoying a ride on the Settle to Carlisle Railway, one of the most scenic and impressive railways in the UK with scenic views over the north Pennines, Eden Valley and Yorkshire Dales.

In the dales, the beautiful Aysgarth Falls are under an hour away, while the iconic Malham Cove, a huge curving amphitheatre shaped cliff formation of limestone rock, is just 75-minutes away. Built to guard the wild northern frontier of the Roman Empire in AD122 and stretching 73 miles coast to coast, Hadrian's Wall is a must-visit and just over an hour away. For those looking to enjoy a day out in the beautiful Lake District, the market town of Kendal, often considered to be the gateway to the Lake District, is less than a 35-minute car journey away. Popular Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, is less than 45-minutes away.
