Description

Set in a quiet development amongst lush vegetation in Cabanas town, just a few minutes to the beautiful nature reserve park of Ria Fermosa, Villa Tavira offers up to ten guests luxurious living across four beautifully designed bedrooms, making it ideal for large families or groups of friends. And with the charming town of Tavira just a ten-minute drive away, and the stunning Cabanas beach a short ferry ride across the  ‘Ria’, you’ll love this excellent location. This one-level property, perfect for seniors or young children, boasts a wonderful open plan living room upon entry, from the hallway. With crisp décor in hues of white and blue, and huge ceilings filled with wooden beams, you’ll enjoy a large seating area, dining table come billiards table, and lovely well-equipped modern kitchen. And with a large set of French windows out onto the alluring shaded sun terrace, you’ll love to unwind in this superb space. The bedrooms here at Villa Tavira are all finished in the same calming natural hues of white and blue. With two doubles, a twin and one room featuring two bunk beds, you will have plenty of options. There are also three bathrooms for your convenience, one of which is a modern en suite. The outside space at the property gives guests a fantastic opportunity to relax in sumptuous secluded settings, from luxurious day beds around the magnificent outdoor pool, to shaded hammocks to gently sway in. There is even a huge outdoor barbeque and dining area, ensuring you make the most of this delightful haven long into the warm evenings. Just perfect!\r

Just 18 miles from the Spanish boarder, and 7km east of the ancient Moorish town of Tavira, beautiful Cabanas lies on the first of the lagoons of the fantastic Ria Formosa Natural Reserve.  What used to be a sleepy fishing village is now a slightly more vibrant tourist resort, yet it still manages to retain its tranquillity and character. With restaurants and cafes lining its waterfront boardwalk, and the beach of Ilha de Cabanas just a short boat trip (or slightly longer swim!) across the waters of the lagoon, you’ll love this idyllic setting. However with just a short drive to the larger Tavira, you’ll want to explore this wonderful town’s authentic Portuguese charm. Wondering round the cobbled streets of Tavira’s old town, you’ll be spoiled with the plethora of historic architecture. From Phoenician excavations through Islamic-decorated doorways to Renaissance and Baroque flourishes, you’ll love to while away your days here. You’ll find over thirty-six churches in the old town alone, and with ancient monasteries and the ruins of a Moorish castle you’ll have plenty to explore. Or simply indulge in the relaxed atmosphere of this special place and find one of the pretty plazas to enjoy a fresh seafood al fresco dinner and a bottle of locally produced wine. Don’t be lulled into an early night however, as one of the Algarve’s finest nightclubs can be found in an old factory here. So, night owls be ready! Tavira has a stunning coastline of pristine beaches situated on the sand bar islands to the southern side of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, where Cabanas is situated. Accessed just a short ferry ride from the town centre, the spectacular Ilha de Tavira 12km stretch of gold sandy beaches is a particular must see. Retaining their natural setting, with no tourist development, these crystal clear waters are ideal for families.  Other activities to indulge in include numerous cycling paths, long hiking routes, excellent golf courses and kilometres of waterways waiting to be discovered by kayak. The eastern Algarve makes for a much calmer and relaxed holiday destination than the hectic western Algarve, but there is still a wide range of fantastic sights, activities and things to do in Tavira. So don’t miss out on this Portuguese gem.\r
