Just on the outskirts of the village lies the mediaeval Powderham Castle, home to the Earl and Countess of Devon, which is open to the public and often hosts music and family events during the summer months. There are plenty of attractions within a short distance from the property including, Dawlish town and beach, Haldon Forest, Dartmoor National Park and Exeter canal and river.
