Description

Villa Galego is set in the small Galician village of Codeseda. Galicia is located in the Northwest of Spain just above Portugal, the area is known as the land of a thousand rivers due to the vast networks of rivers that cross all over the region from the mountains to the coast. The climate in Galicia is a lot cooler than you would expect in Spain and has a similar amount of rain fall to the United Kingdom, this climate is what gives Galicia it's beautiful green landscapes. Don't worry, the summers here are predominantly dry so you can still make the most of the stunning beaches. Galicia is a region rich in history, tradition and culture.

The villa itself is located in the small and quiet village of Codeseda in the province of Pontevedra, it is a charming and rural place surrounded by stunning countryside and rivers. Villa Galego is a 40-minute drive from Santiago de Compostela Airport or 1 hours' drive from Vigo Airport. This rustic traditional villa can accommodate up to sixteen guests making it the perfect place for a large group of friends to go away together or for a holiday for the whole family.

Villa Galego is a large homely villa spread over three floors, the property is full of character and has a traditional Spanish feel to it, it is also surrounded by the lovely Galician countryside. There is a total of seven bedrooms and six bathrooms in the property, these are in the form of five double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, one twin room with en-suite bathroom and one twin room. Each room is light and has a traditional Spanish decor. There are two extra beds available upon request.

There is a large kitchen/dining area which is fully equipped and ready to use. The main lounge area has an extra dining table and plenty of comfy sofas and armchairs to relax in, it also has a fireplace for you to cosy up in front of. From the double patio doors in the kitchen you can access the courtyard where you will find an outside dining area with table and chairs and a barbecue, ready for you to enjoy a long warm evening outside. While you are waiting for dinner to cook why not have a go on the table tennis table in this area or let the little ones play on the swing set. From the patio you can make your way to the private swimming pool area, this 10x5 metres pool is a great size to have a swim in, there are also plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas around for you to lay back and soak up the sun. The pool area is surrounded by green grass, palm and olive trees and a tall hedge giving you a relaxing and private environment.

There is private parking and free Wi-Fi access available at the villa, this is also a pet friendly place so your four-legged friend doesn't have to be left behind.
Villa Galego is a short walk from Casa A Estrada. This is a great option if you have further guests to accomodate.

#### Location
Villa Galego is located in the small country village of Codeseda, this quiet town is a great place to have a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the main holiday resorts. In the village you will find a bank, a pharmacy, a local shop, a bakery, a butcher and a cafe, ideal for buying all the necessary supplies. If you are looking to do a bigger shop then the closest town is A Estrada which is a 10 minute drive away. Here you will find plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants.

If you want to head to the beach for the day there are plenty to choose from. La Concha Beach in Vilagarcia de Arousa is one of the closest beaches at a 45-minute drive away, this sandy beach has calm waters and a promenade with cafes. There are a lot of shells in the sand so bring water shoes. At an hour's drive from the villa you will find one of Galicia's most famous beaches called Lanzada, this stretch of beach is 2 km long, it has fine white sand and clear water and is surrounded by dunes and greenery. There are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants for you to try and the popular activities include surfing and windsurfing.

Santiago de Compostela is Galicia's capital city; it is located a 40-minute drive from Villa Galego. This beautiful historical city is well worth adding to your itinerary. The city's old town is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the end point of the epic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail. Santiago cathedral and Obradoiro square are just a few of the places of interest in this great city. The city of Vigo is an hour's drive from the property, it is known for being a major fishing port in Europe and due to its location, it has its own micro climate, giving it higher temperatures in the summer and milder winters compared to the rest of Galicia. Here you can climb to the top of Monte O Castro where you will be rewarded with stunning views, in this area you can also visit the 17th century Castro Fortress and the ruins of a Celtic settlement. From Vigo you can access the popular Cies Islands, the journey takes 45-minutes by boat, this small paradise boasts stunning sandy beaches with clear water where you can take a scenic walk or lay back and relax.

Galicia is a region rich in culture and tradition so make sure you find a little time to taste the delicious local wine and fresh seafood, try to speak a little of their very own language (Galician) and listen some traditional music played on Gaitas, an instrument very similar to bagpipes.
