Description

The Beachcomber II enjoys a great in-town location....steps to the beach, restaurants, entertainment, and shops. We, a non-smoking, family and pet friendly with a fenced yard and a fun playground just through the gate in the backyard.

The Beachcomber II features hardwood floors and soft relaxing colors throughout. You will pass under the dogwood trees through the front door and enter into the sunroom, into a large livingroom with cable television, pick your bedroom and get ready for family meals in the eat-in kitchen. Your choice of bedrooms is a sunny twin room with built-in-bookcases, a master bedroom, with queen bed and private bath or a queen size bedroom across from the second bathroom with tub/shower. A bonus kids loft is upstairs with two twin beds, and window seat; we recommend it for kids.

While enjoying your stay with us, we have provided an outdoor dining space under the trees with a gas grill. WIFI is provided.

Beachcomber II is a charming cottage, great for families, couples or girl's getaway. We began welcoming guests to our first cottage, Beachcomber I on Hawthorn in 2011 and we so enjoyed giving guests a great place to relax and get-away. Since 2011, we have added 3 additional Beachcomber Cottages and a Guest House. Beachcomber II was purchased and renovated in 2012. After a total renovation the Beachcomber II; a 3 bedroom, 2 bath vacation cottage with kid's sleeping loft is steps to the beach, shops and restaurants. Each year, we spend time in the off season to see what we need to replace, delete or add. In 2021, we added new hardwood floor to one of the bedrooms.

In 2020, unfortunately we will not be providing bikes, as we have since we opened. We find that, even though we get new bikes and revamp bikes at the beginning of each season, we are not able to keep them operational due to some guest mis-use and it has become a guest dissatisfaction issue. If you need recommendations on bikes in the area, let us know, we are happy to help.

The beauty of the Beachcomber is it is perfect for families and couples. The cottage features one floor living, unless you are a kid and want to escape to the kid's loft. We have a large fenced yard with a gate that opens to the town playground. We welcome well-behaved dogs; pet fee applies.

The enjoyment of the Beachcomber II isn't limited to the house. Along with the fenced yard; we feature a gas grill and outside dining under the trees, right outside the kitchen door. great for grilling out and crab picking! And just steps from the house are restaurants, shops, the beach, and fishing pier...be sure to get a soft serve ice cream at Nancy's, which you can see through the trees!

Colonial Beach, Virginia; 60 miles from DC,but a world away... Colonial Beach, Virginia...the Gateway to the Northern Neck of Virginia.... a beach front haven, less than 2 hours from DC, along the Potomac River. Many say, it is place that time has forgotten with it's slow pace, friendly people who wave as they drive past you on their golf carts, wide beaches where the Potomac River is 4 to 6 miles wide, within minutes to historical attractions; George Washington's Birthplace; the Lee Family Home, Stratford Plantation, explore Westmoreland State Park, and find Shark's teeth and more, great boating, fishing, crabbing, and discover the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail, Craft Beers, several great waterfront restaurants, waterfront live bands on weekends during the summer, and great crabs.

Spring and early summer is a beautiful time at the Beach, to enjoy a much quieter waterfront and explore the region's history and wineries!

Thanks for looking and be prepared to fall in love with Colonial Beach and the Northern Neck!
