VIBRANT EDGE OF NATURE ! Dolphin Beach Cottage is a spacious (1900 + square feet) three bedroom, two-bathroom waterfront cottage in the Mount Arrowsmith UNESCO Biosphere Region of Vancouver Island. Unbelievably close to the sea and only steps down to the beach is a special place for a family vacation. It is nautical-themed and anchored in ancient volcanic rock with stunning views across Georgia Strait to the mountains on the mainland. Outdoor bar and firepit area overlook the rustic beach and ocean scenery.

Located between Schooner Cove Marina and the Fairwinds Golf/Country Club, this is the perfect base from which to enjoy your Vancouver Island vacation. Take day trips to Victoria, a 2 hour drive or Long Beach/Tofino - 2.5 hours away or explore the many trails and biodiverse regions of the Mount Arrowsmith area. Although only 15-30 minutes from major shopping, theatres, and ferries in Nanaimo, the cottage is quiet and feels very remote as the beach is accessible by only a few houses on the bay.

All the comforts of home are provided: fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, gas fireplace, TV with surround sound, Cable/DVD player/stereo, high-speed wireless internet, telephone, plus BBQ and patio furniture.

Relax on the large deck and watch the wildlife, which includes plentiful deer, sea lions, herons, seals, otters, eagles, and occasionally, orcas, whales and dolphins.

The living room overlooks the ocean with an entire wall of windows - the fireplace, TV and stereo are all conveniently located here. The dining room, with seating for 6, also looks out onto the incredible view.

The master bedroom boasts views from floor to ceiling windows along one wall, a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with a soaker tub and in-floor heating.

The other sleeping areas are also on the lower level, both with queen beds. The second queen bedroom has sliding glass doors that open onto a small deck that is just steps from the beach. The cozy third sleeping area has a pretty view onto the newly landscaped yard.

There is an additional single bed in the loft overlooking the living room. This area can also serve as an office as there is a desk and Wi-Fi for your laptop.

Schooner Cove Marina is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. You can arrange to use our kayaks (one double and two singles) or book a tour to explore the area by boat.

The small mall in Nanoose, a 5 minute drive away, has a fully stocked supermarket, gas station and post office.
