The gite is situated in the heart of the Charente Maritime countryside and there are several pretty villages and beach lakes close-by. Matha (10kms) is the closest main town and has all main services, and there is also the attractive town of St Jean d'Angély 25kms to the West. Carry on from there another 45 minutes and you have the beaches such as Chatelaillon Plage, the chic Ile de Ré and the lovely historic City of La Rochelle with its harbour and huge selection of cafés and restaurants from which to watch the world go by.
